【Reason for Hiring】
The automotive High-Performance Compute (HPC) team is seeking a senior SW application engineer to initiate product concepts and be a key contributor to Software Development Platform (SDP) solutions for its SOC automotive product line.

In connections with customers and key partners in automotive industry, the position is an excellent opportunity to take a leadership role and collaborate extensively with various global teams including SOC design, software development and product marketing to establish undisputed leadership in automotive embedded OS offering for Renesas’s SoC solutions in the fast-growing world of automotive cockpit, ADAS/AD, and Software-Defined-Vehicle (SDV).

This high-impact role will enable a successful candidate to deliver value by accelerating the deployment of leading safe and secure operating systems (OSs), and Hypervisor for our tailored automotive SoC and high-performance software solution and contribute to transforming the future of mobility.

【Role Responsibilities】
This position is a great opportunity to take ownership of a key automotive SoC product, integrating the latest technology and process nodes into a best-in-class product.

Own all aspects from Software Development Platform (SDP) architecture, design, partner stacks integration, scalability, functional safety, and performance to software quality targets.Lead customer support program for Japanese customer to accelerate their SW development by having deep discussion of their demand.Lead definition and implementation of automotive use cases leveraging Renesas’s SoC and software infrastructure.Initiate and coordinate the development of system software, tooling, maintenance, and evolution of our tailored automotive SDP.Responsible for improving maturity and ease to use support of SDP through evaluation and measurement, and system architecture optimization to contribute design-ins and revenue.Collaborate with sales, automotive product line marketing and applications engineers to generate winning reference software stacks & application demos needed to establish clear dominance through best-in-class overall whole product.Work closely with the marketing, applications, and field sales/FAE teams of other Renesas Electronics’ business units to successfully define innovative embedded systems and work with a cross-functional team to coordinate product promotion and demand creation within specific regions.Providing support to field teams as needed to generate opportunities and facilitate design-ins.Stay abreast of latest technology trends in the field of Real-Time and High-Level operating systems, safety-certified products, hypervisor, middleware and security solutions; develop recommendations and competitive feature set to keep the hardware and software product at the cutting edge and best-in-class through continuous improvement.Support Director of automotive product line and interact with other group managers to ensure successful deployment of strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

【MUST】

10+ years industry experience in software development and a proven track record in translating complex use cases requirements into software design, system specifications, standards, and programming.Strong, hands-on knowledge of automotive operating systems (Linux, QNX, Android, Autosar) software development environments.Willing and able to travel as needed to work directly with domestic and international customers (Tier 1 and OEM) to support product implementation and propose improvementsProactive self-starter with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneouslyStrong analytical skills and a results-driven mindset with a “winning” attitudeExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong command of the Japanese language, both verbal and written

【WANT】

Experience in embedded system software design, including low-level firmware, kernel, and user-space components, as well as software debuggingKnowledge of system architecture for heterogeneous and multi-core computing platforms, including ARM processors, GPUs, and specialized hardware accelerators for AI and image processing in embedded SoC systems
