The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing complex network solutions that support GSK's global operations at the Edge of the network. This role requires a deep understanding of network infrastructure, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to ensure the highest levels of network performance and security.. Key responsibilities: · Oversee the vision and design of GSK's global network infrastructure at the Access Layer, including but not limited to LAN Switching, Wi-Fi, OT Networks, Authentication, and all associated technologies. · Ensure high availability, performance, and security of assigned services · Provide thought leadership to the Network Access team, proactively identifying and assessing new technologies and determining suitability for GSK’s production environment. · Develop and maintain a three-year technology roadmap in collaboration with peer Architects in other product areas · Act as the SME for all LAN, WiFi, OT, and Authentication technologies in use or being evaluated for use in GSK’s Infrastructure · Integrate robust network security measures to protect GSK’s data and systems from threats. · Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations · Regularly engage with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and provide network solutions that support business objectives. · Be a key member of a greater Architectural community within GSK, representing the interests of Access Network design · Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends. · Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and efficiency improvements in network delivery. · Assist Access Network Engineers in the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for network operations. Your Key Stakeholders are… · Director Access Network: Accountable to ensure alignment with cohesive strategy for all LAN and Wi-Fi services strategy, designs, and implementations are optimal · Access Network Engineers: Provide mentorship daily to champion knowledge transfer and encourage positive destruction in eliminating poor delivery practices and lacklustre solutions · EHS Architects: Weekly interactions as a key member of Architectural Steering to represent Network Access layer interests in solutioning · Business Units: Regular cadence meetings to ensure that solutions provided are optimized in enabling GSK’s communications needs Why you? Basic Qualifications: · Over 10 years of experience in Network Services, over 5 years of experience in an Architecture role · Demonstrated strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse audiences across various technical disciplines and job levels to achieve results. · Expert level knowledge with Cisco and Juniper platforms · Have a firm understanding of all networking technologies that contribute to the success of the cohesive network solution globally. · Extensive management experience with suppliers and matrixed multi-functional teams located globally. · Self-starter with a sense of urgency and the ability to handle multiple high-priority work demands simultaneously in an outcome-driven organization. · Demonstrable experience in demand gathering, solution investigation, and presentation of options with appropriate supporting material to develop comprehensive solutions for the enterprise in assigned area · Over 10 years of experience with global orchestration of project kickoffs · Ability to think differently, to create positive destruction of status quo, and communicate ideas effectively in writing · Ability to create and articulate vision and strategy, positively influence engineers in helping make the right technical decisions based on both Preferred Qualifications: · Five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a solid understanding of its technological trends. · Experienced in managing infrastructure in both private and public cloud environments. · Expert level certifications in Network, Cloud, Security, Project Management · Experience with management of environments with 100K plus users · Passionate about enhancing the customer experience. · Experienced in initiating and delivering large-scale operational programs. · Proficient in agile and waterfall delivery methodologies.
