Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $159,400.00 - $265,600.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

Purpose

This position resides within the OSP Planning & Design team of the Outside Plant (OSP) Department, and reports to the Sr Dir of Architecture, Planning & Forecasting. It manages modeling, analysis and material logistics for all hybrid fiber-coax (HFC) and fiber networks deployed and maintained by Cox. Activities of interest span multiple programs including Network Transformation Phase 2 (NT2.0), Residential New Builds (Greenfield), Rural Broadband (RBB), Market Expansion (MET), and various other programs.

To properly perform the expected tasks, this position requires good understanding of the technologies and architectures supported by the MSOs (e.g., DOCSIS 3.1, Fiber-To-The-Home infrastructure (FTTH), analog and digital node splits (NX/DNX), mid-split (MS), high-split (HS), ultra-high split (UHS), node plus zero (N+0), segmentation, and more). In addition, the position would require working and getting buy-in from multiple stakeholders, developing presentations and presenting findings to senior executives. The position requires strong leadership, decision-making skills, and ability to direct the team towards objectives.

Major Tasks

Actively participate in, lead discussions and function as a liaison for OSP Strategic Planning on long term network planning (5-10-20 years)

Assist in analyzing the impact of short and long-term plans, policy changes on OSPC budget and resources to obtain alignment with OSPC Field teams, leadership, and boundary partners

Liaise with Engineering, Product, Finance, Strategy, and field teams to develop a roadmap and long-term network evolution plan

Develop consensus and deliver clear and concise reports and presentations with data driven information to OSPC leadership and boundary partners

Lead and liaise on strategic initiative for Strategic Planning Organization

Support and onboard new initiatives and architectures impacting cost, effort, resources etc.

Support and accomplish process automation

Clearly communicate the findings with OSP Planning and other stakeholders

Participate in all planning processes and provide the analytic expertise required for team success

Minimum

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 8 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 6 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 3 years’ experience in a related field; or 12 years’ experience in a related field

3+ years’ experience in management or leadership role

Requires strong knowledge of MS Excel, with the ability to build and analyze data models.

Demonstrated problem solving and analytical thinking skills.

Excellent collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.

Preferred

Experience working in Telecommunications is highly preferred

Experience in advanced Data Analysis techniques such as Python

Highly proficient in MS Powerpoint and presenting to leadership groups

Strong communication skills
