Capital One is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Principal Auditor interested in becoming part of our Audit team. In this role, the candidate will directly support project management activities for the Audit department including progress tracking and reporting. The candidate may also have the opportunity to participate in audit functions including maintaining well-managed data, developing guidance and training materials, and managing operational reporting for the department, as well as coordinating with audit stakeholders and executives regarding program implementation results.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Ensures team(s) maintain focus on quality and timely delivery.
+ Provides visibility into delivery targets, commitments and progress and integrates Agile principles into team practices and work products.
+ Proactively identifies impediments and appropriately resolves using a network of peers and formal channels (including escalation if required).
+ Utilizes team feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and works with the team to continuously improve.
+ Execute audit programmatic implementation for key audit process areas or significant components of program/ process implementation
+ Perform risk assessments of audit program operations, design and execute audit implementation procedures, and document implementation processes and procedures.
+ Understand the broader context and implications (e.g., financial, legal, reputational, etc.) of the various types of risk affecting the business and critical technology functions.
+ Establishes and maintains good client relations during implementation and ongoing projects.
+ Communicates or assists in communicating the results of some projects to management via written reports and oral presentations.
+ Identify expectations of the customer and take actions to support the customer experience.
+ Prepare clear, organized and complete documentation to support work performed.
+ Self prioritize and effectively plan own work activities managing multiple priorities and tasks across the team to deliver quality results.
+ Coordinate with others and proactively take on additional work.
+ Deliver appropriate, succinct and organized information, tailoring communication style to audience.
+ Provide periodic on-the-job coaching and direct supervision over less experienced associates.

**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
+ At least 3 years of experience in auditing, accounting, risk management, data analytics or a combination
+ At least 1 year of project management experience
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Professional certification such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
+ 2+ years of experience in banking or financial services industry
+ 2+ years of experience with data analytics tools
+ Experience with Google Suite
+ Experience with Tableau

**This role is hybrid meaning associates typically spend 3+ days per week (Monday - Thursday) in-person at one of our offices listed on this job posting. Fridays are enterprise-wide virtual work days.**
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $117,300 - $133,900 for Principal Auditor
Richmond, VA: $106,700 - $121,700 for Principal Auditor
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
