We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal Budget Analyst based out of Plymouth, MN.
What You’ll Get to Do:
The Principal Budget Analyst will support budget/rate development, actuals reporting, and monthly forecasting within the Armament Systems Rates & Budgets team. Roles and responsibilities of the Principal Budget Analyst will encompass the following, and vary slightly depending on specific position, program, or business unit to which you are assigned:
Monitor indirect budget and/or rate performance against plan including monthly reporting requirements (actuals, absorption, forecasting) to budget owners, internal management, and/or DCMA/DCAAReview and analyze actual variance drivers and assist with corrective action planningDevelop annual budgets in support of the Forward Pricing Rate Proposal and any necessary mid-year updatesSupport monthly budget estimate-at-complete updatesProvide support for internal reporting and reviewsAssist budget managers to execute budgets to meet targets (headcount, utilization, costs)Support DCMA/DCAA and internal audits and requestsWork closely management and other accountants within the finance department to ensure compliance with internal procedures, government accounting regulations, and Accounting Standard Codification (ASC).The analyst will complete audits of cost for accurate and appropriate recording and monthly time card audits to ensure compliance.Serve as business management liaison to supporting areasBasic Qualifications
Must have 9 years of related work experience in lieu of degree. Will consider: Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years related work experience – OR – a master’s degree with 3 years of related work experience. Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)Experience preparing and presenting information and/or analysis to all levels of managementExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environmentMust be an agile learner and able to grasp business processes and concepts easily and quicklySelf-motivated individual with strong time management skillsProblem solving abilityAttention to detail, accuracy, and self-discipline to review work prior to submissionUS Citizenship is required.Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Costpoint, internal financial budgeting systems, COGNOSGovernment contracting experienceRates and budgets experienceCuriosity, with a passion for learning and asking several questions deep to ensure understandingExperience with DCMA/DCAA auditsSalary Range: $79,100.00 - $118,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
