We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal Budget Analyst based out of Salt Lake City, UT. This position offers the 9/80 schedule.
What You’ll Get to Do:
The Principal Budget Analyst will work within a team structure and interact with various operating units, business areas, and division staff to assist in solving reporting program issues and meeting reporting requirements. The Analyst will interface with program managers, functional management, control account managers (CAMS) and business managers, to provide financial support and analysis in addition to generating program performance measurement baselines (PMB) and implement approved changes.
As part of this role, the Analyst will perform analysis and prepare program and product line financial reports for customers relative to program cost incurrence, material tracking, and labor spending to help ensure program contracts are within negotiated, agreed-upon parameters, government cost control guidelines, and accounting guidelines. In addition, the Analyst will work cooperatively with the business, functional, and technical staff to address internal and external customer requests while supporting cost estimate development and various audits.
The Analyst will facilitate, monitor, and forecast product line financing mechanisms, coordinate and prepare product line financial forecasting and reporting, the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and the Labor Resource Plan and identify and mitigate program cost and schedule risk.
The Analyst has responsibility for all aspects of financial administration for the Sector’s Operations organization, with specific focus on development of both near term and long term Sector strategy and analysis of alternatives. The position will provide financial oversight in the development and implementation of various projects.
Day-to-day responsibilities include - but are not limited to - the following:
Evaluate processes across the Mission Systems sector with focus on standardization of best practices, processes, tools and proceduresFinancial data collection, consolidation, interpretation, and analysis in an effort to maintain affordability and promote the predictability of future trendsAssessing impacts of organizational and operational changes to ensure impacts are properly evaluated and incorporated into budgets to ensure recoverabilityPreparing comparative evaluation of actual costs against budgeted funds and determining rationale for variances between costs and budgetPerform analysis and prepare reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelinesSet up cost control system, monitors and controls costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control systemPerform Monthly Unit Cost financial analysis and provides both external and internal reporting(s) for Operations and Business ManagementBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree plus 5 years related work experience – OR – a Master’s Degree with 3 years of related work experience. PC skills, proficiency with financial systems and experience in cost control, financial analysis, or accounting. Experience in Data Analytics, Data Mining and Database managementProficient in Microsoft SQL Server, TABLEAU, and PythonExperience with complex EXCEL spreadsheet, formulas, pivot tables and slicersExperience interpreting and applying government compliance regulations such as the FAR US Citizenship is required.The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required.Preferred Qualifications

Salary Range: $71,600.00 - $107,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
