Principal Business Systems Analyst

The Principal Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is responsible for overseeing the technical execution of one to many projects and tasks in varying IT areas such as application development, application support, systems administration, business intelligence, network administration and others. In addition to coordination and oversight of technical tasks during the execution phase of the project, the Principal Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for gathering and documenting customer requirements by interviewing and understanding customer needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IT practices and terminology in order to be knowledgeable enough to know when to raise questions in order to correctly drive the project execution tasks to completion. The candidate will need to be bright, imaginative, and a capable technologist with strong communication skills, specifically seeking an environment where they will impact the direction of the organization, and be a key contributor to overall success of the business. The pace is exceptionally fast at SNC, and our dynamic environment will see many new projects in the coming year. The Principal Business Systems Analyst will need to be agile and flexible, as changes will be certain and frequent. As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications. **Responsibilities** + Work with business users to identify data requirements to support AI use cases and solutions + Work with EDW and technical SMEs to correlate to existing datasets and/or create requirements for new datasets for AI solutions + Work with Data Governance to ensure proper data controls are established and followed + Work with EDW Data Engineers to establish and maintain ETL data flows to AI tools + Design data models to be consumed by AI/ML + Design pipelines and data transformation in AI tools + Design, build, and maintain AI applications / reporting objects + Validate all of the above, coordinating User Acceptance Testing with business users + Develop training and documentation for business users **Qualifications The Employee Must Have** Bachelor's Degree in a related field with at least 14 or more years of relevant experience + Higher education may substitute for relevant experience + Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education Self starter mentality; be able to run with data ideas/solutions with little direction SQL Skills: + Understanding of basic database components (Server, Schema, Tables, Attribute, Data Types) + Ability to perform basic joins (inner, cross and left join) + Ability to understand table primary and foreign key relationshipS + Understanding of grants and groups with regards to data access Data Warehouse Knowledge/Skills: + General understanding or ability to learn concepts of EDW (raw, Point in Time and Certified data layers) + Understanding of scheduling concepts + Understanding of access concepts (groups) **Qualifications We Prefer** •Ability to analyze business systems and/or business processes to identify user needs, document requirements, and address process improvements •Scrum Master certification, or equivalent experience to obtain such certification •Strong knowledge of requirements documentation tools such as Visio, Word, Excel, Jira, and/or Azure DevOps •Experience with data mapping and documentation of system integration metadata and touchpoints necessary for implementation •Basic experience with writing SQL and understanding the basics of table querying for use in documenting data requirements •Strong knowledge of project planning and execution, using tools such as MS Project •Understanding of analysis and software development lifecycle methodologies •Strong presentation, facilitation, collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
