Our Network Operations team works around the clock running United’s global operation, safely, reliably and efficiently. From dispatching and routing our fleet to coordinating with maintenance line planning and crew scheduling, this team makes caring connections with our internal customers and ultimately, United’s customers. From pushback to landing, the Network Operations team is the eyes and ears on the ground no matter where in the world your United flight takes you.
**Key Responsibilities:**
The Principal – Charters and NRFO Execution will assist in the planning, execution and operational integrity of United’s charter flights through an assigned portfolio of high-profile charter clients to corporations to military and government. This individual proactively coordinates with internal divisions and partners to carefully plan each charter, then is responsible for execution and addresses irregular operations as needed. The Principal handles complex relationships to support best-in-class service and operational performance. Develops and is responsible for project work as needed to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency. Works irregular hours including evenings/weekends/holidays to serve the needs of the operation as the position is on call 24/7/365.
+ Coordinate with internal partners to plan, operationalize and address irregular operations of charter flights including Network Charters, Airport Ops, NOC, Dispatch, Engineering, Flight Ops, Inflight, Crew Scheduling, Tech Ops, Catering Ops, Corporate Security and others. Ensure compliance with safety and other operational requirements/guidance provided by relevant internal teams.
+ Assist Charter team to supervise vendors or other third-party partners required for operation including FBO/ground handlers and security screening companies. Lead projects as needed to improve processes, operational effectiveness and efficiency.
+ Lead assigned complex relationships, serving as primary contact working with clients on planning (advance), operational (day-of) and debriefing (post-charter) basis with a creative “problem solving” and service-focused approach
+ Prepare and disseminate charter briefing documents and handle manifesting process
+ Ensure compliance with, and maintain currency in, all applicable facets of the TSA Private Charter Standard Security Program (PCSSP) as well as all relevant regulatory and legal requirements at the local/state/federal level. Supports on-site audits from TSA and FAA as needed
+ Lead and provide leadership through dotted line relationships with Charter Coordinators (AO and Inflight co-workers) who fly with charter and supervise above-and below-the wing activities
+ Lead projects as needed to improve processes, operational effectiveness and efficiency
NOTE: This position is based at the NOC in Arlington Heights, IL and considered as an onsite position
**Qualifications**
**What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):**
+ Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
+ 5 to 7 years direct operational experience
+ Knowledge of charter operations, airport operations or similar airline logistical functions
+ Self-starter who can tackle nuanced operational planning and execution with little direction
+ Exceptional communication skills across a wide variety of internal and external partners
+ Ability to communicate complex situations or requests effectively
+ Creative problem solving skills
+ Ability to resolve conflict and diffuse difficult situations
+ Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment across varying and time-sensitive operational scenarios
+ Leadership ability in a team environment
+ Ability to anticipate implications and consequences of operational scenarios and build contingencies accordingly
+ Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as required. Position is “on call” 24/7/365
+ Must be willing and able to travel a mimum of 10%
+ Must be willing and able to work at the NOC in Arlington Heights, IL as onsite
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
+ Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
+ Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
**What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):**
+ Experience in Charter Operations, Airport Operations, Network Operations (NOC), Crew Scheduling or Customer Service
The base pay range for this role is $99,750.00 to $135,960.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
