Principal Chemical Engineer – Power RD&E
Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company currently is seeking a Principal Chemical Engineer to join the Power RD&E team in Naperville, Illinois. As a Principal Chemical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing new innovations and leading broader platforms in water treatment and power generation. You will also collaborate with other scientists and engineers to develop innovative solutions for our clients' challenges in the Power Industry.

What you will do:
Engage with customers, sales engineers, and marketing functions to translate industry challenges into research platforms.
Develop innovative solutions for Power Industries, with special emphasis on cooling and boiler water treatment programs, including digital and automation technologies.
Collaborate with other researchers and field technical consultants to deploy new innovations in field applications.
Lead projects from initial prospecting through final validation and commercialization in collaboration with multiple functions
Minimum Qualifications:
MS Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline and 5+ years of Industrial Research & Development experience; or
PhD Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline and Industrial years of Industrial Research & Development experience.
Experience developing innovative chemical technologies in Power Industries, leveraging knowledge of chemical properties and structures to deliver commercial technologies.
Ability to travel (domestic and international) up to 20%

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leading research projects that leverage an understanding of fundamental physical/chemical properties and structural activity relationships influencing heat transfer.
PhD Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
Experience developing innovative chemical technologies in cooling water, boiler, and wastewater treatment, with emphasis on corrosion inhibitors, dispersants, and biocides.
Experience working independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team of researchers. Strong written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated experience with public speaking and leading meetings with internal and external customers.
Annual or Hourly Compensation Range
The pay range for this position is $98,600.00 - $148,000.00. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.Benefits
