Principal Chemist, Analytical Characterization and Texture Science (ACTS)
Ingredion is looking to hire a Principal Chemist to conduct research and development efforts for new and existing products. As part of the Analytical Characterization & Texture Science (ACTS) group, the Principal Chemist will deploy advanced analytical characterization to conduct laboratory activities and data analysis that aid in defining products, understanding structure-function relationships and enable effective product, process, and formulation development.
Core Responsibilities:
Work with manager and the ACTS team towards the development and execution of a comprehensive strategy around olfaction-based characterization that articulates Ingredion’s Food Texture Science capabilities & value for our customer.Develop and implement advanced analytical instrumentation methodologies (LC/MS, GC/MS, Olfactory techniques, XRF etc.) towards deep structure-function understanding & gather unique insights.Identify and strengthen partnerships with external vendors and institutions to elevate Ingredion’s olfaction capabilities.Keeping up to date on advances in measurement systems through open sourcesWriting reports and effectively communicating results to project teams and stakeholders.Promote strong collaboration with teams within and outside Analytical Characterization & Texture Science function to establish Ingredion as an externally recognized thought leaderQualified candidate will have:
MS in analytical instrumentation related field (Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent) with 3 to 5+ years of analytical characterization experience, preferable in the food and beverage industry. PhD also considered.Specific technical knowledge & proficiency around characterization methods and instrumentation, preferably on food/pharma or adjacent industries.Demonstrated proficiency in design of experiments, data interpretation and analyses to offer non-obvious insights.Working knowledge of statistics and related analytical toolsStrong computer skills; working knowledge of MS Office and related software.Required behaviors and skills:

$78,700.00-$104,966.67 AnnualThis pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).
Incentive Compensation:
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
