About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Cloud Engineer with a strong background in AWS Lambda, Aurora, RDS, and Fargate. This role reports to the VP of Open Banking API Engineering, will be responsible for leading our cloud engineering strategy in collaboration with our Digital Enablement team, focusing on building out a robust, public-cloud-based API architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

•             Lead the design, development, and implementation of cloud-based solutions using AWS Lambda, node.js, Aurora/RDS, and Fargate.

•             Collaborate with the Digital Enablement team to align cloud architecture with business goals and requirements.

•             Architect scalable, secure, and reliable API solutions on a public cloud platform.

•             Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the API engineering team.

•             Ensure best practices in cloud security, cost optimization, and compliance.

•             Continuously evaluate and improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of the cloud infrastructure.

•             Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and AWS technologies to drive innovation.

Qualifications:

•             Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field preferred, but relevant work experience will be considered as an alternative.

•             Extensive experience with AWS services, particularly Lambda, Aurora, RDS, and Fargate.

•             Proven track record of architecting and delivering scalable cloud solutions.

•             Strong understanding of API design principles and cloud-native architectures.

•             Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

•             Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues.

•             Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

•             Experience in Agile development methodologies is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

•             AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or similar certifications.

•             Experience with serverless computing and microservices architecture.

•             Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $145,900.00 - $245,120.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
