The role
As a Principal Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is a critical role, with the opportunity to engage and network with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally. You will manage an established team of Commissioning Engineers and act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing your technical knowledge and expertise. 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll Manage and Lead a team of Commissioning Engineers to provide planning for the Mid Life Revalidation Period.   

 

To Manage the test group system data. Provide technical support for the planning of MLRP - Mid Life Revalidation Period. To act as a Ship System Subject Matter Expert for the team. To promote a robust safety culture within the team. This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.


Essential experience of the Principal Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical

Substantial knowledge and experience of commissioning mechanical systems on nuclear submarines, specialising in Ship systems.  Sound and demonstrable knowledge of safe release of systems, Control of Work process and Safe Systems of Work. The ability to manage multiple complex commissioning packages across multiple projects. Excellent leadership, training and developing qualities


Qualifications for the Principal Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical

NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in an engineering discipline Degree qualified / HNC is desirable or with relevant extensive experience

 

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
