As a Principle Compounder at Sensient Pharma, you will provide technical assistance and lab support for use of our excipients in dietary supplements and pharmaceutical products. You will be part of a multi-site team in developing flavor solutions for food supplements, functional foods or pharmaceutical applications such as gummies, syrups, shots, beverages, tablets, soft gels, lozenges. In this role, you will especially play a role in compounding flavor recipes, bench processing of flavor samples, application sample preparation and sample request fulfillment.

This position is based in our lab in Cernusco, Italy, serving projects and customers across EMENA and requires around 20% of travel to other company sites.

What you will do:

Develop proficiency with flavor lab equipment and methodologies in alignment with SOP and lab safety measures, and manage assigned day-to-day operationsMaintain and update an inventory of flavor samples and ingredientsWeight and blend recipes and operate bench or pilot level food processing equipment such as mixers and driersExecute standard analytical testing for flavors such as moisture, particle size, and viscosity and ability to prepare samples for compositional analysis as per method SOPsPrepare flavor and application samples for tasting; gather and summarize screening sensory resultsReceive and send sample requests between company sites and customers. Prepare samples and documentation for shipments

What you will bring:

BSc. degree in food science, chemistry or comparable biological fieldsExperience working in a lab setting and familiarity with experimental lab tests and safety proceduresExperience with application of ingredients for consumable products is a plusYou are able to prioritize workload and have great eye for detail and record keepingVery good English language skills, spoken and written, and basic Italian language skillsYou are a great team player with excellent communication skills to share work and updates
