The Principal Construction Tech (Fab) may work autonomously within established Construction (Fab) procedures and practices. They act as a lead, coordinating the work of others. The Principal Construction Tech (Fab) proposes improvements to processes and methods within the Construction (Fab) discipline. **Key Tasks and Responsibilities:** + Develop and implement innovative fabrication techniques and technologies to enhance productivity and efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards + Create and maintain detailed fabrication schedules, ensuring milestones are achieved within the predetermined time frames + Monitor and control fabrication costs, seeking opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality, safety, or project objectives + Oversee the planning and coordination of fabrication activities, including material preparation, welding, cutting, fitting, assembly, and installation, while optimizing resource utilization and productivity + Collaborate with project management teams to develop fabrication strategies and ensure seamless integration with overall project plans + Lead and execute fabrication activities in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations + Provide technical expertise and guidance to fabrication teams throughout the project life cycle, resolving complex fabrication issues effectively and efficiently + Conduct regular inspections and ensure compliance with engineering design specifications, industry codes, and project requirements + Foster strong working relationships with suppliers, contractors, and external stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services while maintaining high standards of quality + Proactively identify and mitigate fabrication-related risks to minimize project delays and cost overruns + Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in fabrication technologies, recommending and implementing relevant innovations to improve project outcomes **Essential Qualifications and Education:** + Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field + Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in fabrication functions within the EPCI industry, with a focus on major construction projects + Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, welding processes, structural steel fabrication, and assembly procedures + In-depth understanding of engineering design principles, industry codes (e.g., AWS, ASME, API), and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA) + Proven track record of successfully managing fabrication teams and delivering projects on time and within budget + Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide timely solutions + Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks + Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and familiar with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for fabrication planning and control + Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including team members, clients, suppliers, and contractors + Demonstrated leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve high performance + Professional certifications, such as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Project Management Professional (PMP), are desirable \#LI-AL2 Our ingenuity fuels daily life.
