Inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant – VMware Engineering
We are looking for a VMware engineer who is highly motivated and ready to work in a team environment. The engineer should possess good communication skills and should be able to articulate complex topics to stakeholders. CDK currently has a complex ESX environment and hence the candidate should be able to support complex combination of Vcenters and ESXi. In addition to catering for a dynamic environment, the candidate should also be able to collaborate with other teams such as Storage. The job also requires hands-on expertise on advanced technologies such as hyperconverged infrastructure. The candidate should be able to work in a 24X7 environment with On-Call support.
Responsibilities
Installation, configuration, troubleshooting of ESX servers 6 and 7
Responsible for patching and upgrades including firmware
Basic understanding and hands-on on underlying storage hardware
Adept at using ESXi CLI and basic commands
Manage Vcenter – patching, performance upgrades etc.
Ability to manage switches and related configuration.
Hands on experience on Vcenter related configuration – able to manage/create/setup/configure clusters and related configuration
Expert at troubleshooting issues in migration, ESXi slowness, HBA issues etc.
Able to use VROPS a plus
Basic vendor management – support model (Dell, HP)
Hyperconverged infrastructure understanding a plus
Understanding of snapshots and related Rubrik integration
Capacity management
Able to communicate complex topics to stakeholders
Able to use ITIL process and ticketing tools (Familiarity with ServiceNow is a plus)
Qualifications we seek in you
Minimum Qualifications / Skills
Any computer science degree at bachelor or post-graduate level
Any AWS certification would be an added plus
Dell hyperconverged infrastructure knowledge is a plus
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Strong communicator – English in spoken and written form
