The Principal Consultant works with an energetic professional services team and will be responsible for designing and configuring the DealCloud platform for our clients in response to their specific business requirements. As a Principal Consultant, you will be engaging with a wide variety of firms (Private Equity Firms, Investment Banks, Credit Funds, Limited Partners, etc.) to help transform their business and determine creative solutions to complex business problems. Solutions will leverage the DealCloud platform to drive process improvement, organizational change, reporting insights, and data analytics.  The Principal must understand the role of technology in the operation of private capital markets firms, as well as be able to articulate the value of DealCloud’s platform to both system users and executive decision-makers. The Principal Consultant will be a key representative on client engagements, with a mix of client-facing consultative work and behind the scenes platform design, configuration, data analysis, and data manipulation.  The Principal should demonstrate passion and a proven track record in five primary areas:

Technology: As a market leading Software as a Service (SaaS) company, the Principal will be working with cutting edge technology solutions.  Deep experience working with technology and being passionate about using technology to create value for our clients is a must.

Client facing skills: A significant amount of day-to-day responsibilities will involve communicating with clients, both in person and remotely.  Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills are required for success.

Professional & Financial Services: In order to speak confidently and authoritatively to our clients, the Principal must have prior experience with firms in the private capital markets, as well as a desire to continue learning about all of the industries we serve.

Data: Analyzing and understanding client data is an important factor that influences a client's system design; as such, the Principal must be comfortable understanding data relationships, database structures, and the interplay between data, business requirements, and system design.

Project Management: The Principal will be required to have a firm understanding of project timelines, budgets and risk, and be comfortable communicating this information to both internal and client stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

Delivering high level presentations to audiences ranging from executives to system end usersEstablishing credibility and trust with clients at all levelsServing as the platform subject matter expert and thought leader throughout the implementation lifecyclePerforming user requirements analysis; facilitating business process design sessions; identifying gaps, issues and reporting risk areas as part of a software implementation delivery teamTranslating business processes and requirements into business process flow documentation, solution design, and system configurations to support client's desired future stateAnalyzing client legacy data sets to understand the impact of the data on system designDemonstrating technical knowledge on the entire software implementation, including activities around data mapping, data conversion, system and security configuration and user acceptance testingUnderstanding and acting upon project priorities, scope, timeline, goals, and key milestonesDriving consensus on desired outcomes for project-related decisions.Collaborating with internal teams to formalize best practices and refine project delivery methods for client outcomes (including Sales, Account Management, Client Success, etc)Actively participate and in scoping and Order Form completionSupport/Mentor new hire(s) and Associates Participate and lead industry deep dives for onboarding new Implementation team membersActively coach team members on understanding the impact of data on system design

What You’ll Need

Organization, effective time management, and ability to multi-taskPassion for delivering high quality outcomesAbility to work under tight deadlines8-10 years experience working as part of a delivery teamLead client meetings and communicationsExperience writing Business Process documentation and other client-facing documentationStrong analytical and creative problem-solving abilitiesComfort with Microsoft Excel, familiarity with advanced Excel functionsAbility to adapt to rapidly evolving situationsStrong sense of personal responsibility and ownership over your workWillingness and love of learning new technology, new processes and procedures, and new business modelsAbility to be onsite at client offices up to 50% (local and international)

Bonus if you have: 


Domain expertise in private equity and growth capital firms, venture capital, private lenders, etc.Previous experience selling in the private equity or investment banking sector, or working with an enterprise software provider 
Relational database knowledgeSQL preferred
