Role Summary:
As a Data Business Analyst specializing in Bordereaux management, your primary responsibility will be to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams by gathering, analyzing, and translating business requirements into actionable data insights for Bordereaux reporting and analytics solutions. You will work closely with insurance teams, including underwriting, claims, and policy management, to define KPIs and reporting needs specific to Bordereaux processes. Your role is key in ensuring the accurate, effective, and actionable integration of data into Bordereaux reports and dashboards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Requirements Gathering Data Analysis
o Engage with business stakeholders (underwriting, claims, and operations teams) to gather comprehensive reporting and data requirements for Bordereaux processes.
o Analyze insurance-specific business processes (submissions, policies, claims, and reinsurance) to identify relevant data sources, key metrics, and KPIs for Bordereaux reporting.
o Identify the sources of data (internal and external) required for Bordereaux and collaborate with technical teams to define how these data sources should be integrated into reporting systems.
o Define key data attributes such as policy-level data, claims reserves, loss ratios, underwriting efficiencies, and reinsurance aggregation requirements.
2. Data Mapping Integration
o Work with data engineers and developers to define the data flow, ensuring accurate mapping of data from multiple sources such as policy administration, claims systems, and Bordereaux platforms into central data storage and dashboards.
o Ensure that data integration strategies support real-time or batch updates, depending on business needs.
o Assist in designing data models to ensure that data structures are optimal for Bordereaux reporting, adhering to best practices in data governance, and ensuring compliance with insurance industry standards.
3. Testing Quality Assurance
o Develop and execute UAT plans, including test scenarios, scripts, and acceptance criteria for Bordereaux reports and dashboards.
o Ensure data quality by validating the data extracted, transformed, and loaded (ETL) through the process, ensuring it aligns with business requirements.
o Identify data discrepancies or data integrity issues and communicate these with data engineers for resolution.
o Conduct data validation on aggregated Bordereaux data, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of reports for underwriting, claims, reinsurance, and policy lifecycle metrics.
4. Bordereaux Reporting Design Data Visualization
o Collaborate with stakeholders on the design of data-driven reports and dashboards specific to Bordereaux management, focusing on:
Policy and claims data aggregation
Underwriting productivity and efficiency metrics
Claims loss ratios, reserves, and incurred losses
Ceded reinsurance reports and reconciliation
Broker performance tracking
o Use data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to design user-friendly dashboards that empower stakeholders with actionable insights.
o Ensure that data is presented in an understandable format for business users, supporting decision-making in underwriting, claims, and reinsurance management.
5. Data Governance Quality Control
o Support data governance efforts to ensure the quality, security, and compliance of Bordereaux data.
o Define and implement processes for data validation, data lineage tracking, and ensuring that the data used for Bordereaux reports adheres to established standards.
o Work with data stewards to monitor data health and take proactive measures to resolve data issues before they affect the reporting process.
o Help implement data security protocols to ensure sensitive Bordereaux and insurance data is protected.
6. Collaboration with Data Teams
o Work with data engineers, data scientists, and other technical teams to ensure the seamless flow of data between source systems (policy administration, claims) and the reporting systems.
o Ensure that data pipelines are built to facilitate the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of Bordereaux data into reporting environments.
o Review data pipeline architecture and optimize data flow for faster report generation and better data processing efficiency.
7. Documentation Reporting Framework
o Document all data flows, data transformations, and report specifications to ensure transparency and standardization in Bordereaux data handling.
o Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, data dictionaries, UAT plans, and user guides.
o Standardize Bordereaux reporting processes to ensure consistency across different business units.
8. Continuous Data Improvement
o Continuously assess and identify opportunities to improve data-related processes in Bordereaux reporting.
o Stay updated on new data technologies, tools, and trends to bring innovative solutions to data management and reporting.
o Provide recommendations on improving data architecture and governance in Bordereaux reporting processes.
