Job description

Infosys Public Services is seeking a Principal Consultant - Product Engineering, to join our Team.

Position Description (scope of work or brief narrative):A hands on technologist who assists Product Management team in developing the Product Roadmap by giving sizing and implementation inputs, define Engineering Practices for one or two squads, define Engineering Metrics and measurement mechanisms, assess engineering maturity of a team and define improvement plans, define strategy for improving speed and quality of delivery from a squad, assist client engagement teams to create product proposals, co-ordinate estimation for set of Product features, anchor resource planning, develop risk mitigation plan, monitor development activities, review and evaluate release scope, ensure proper technical documentation, anchor triaging of defects, help technical team members get unstuck and resolve blockers (technical, people & plan dependency related), guide and ensure enablement of team from a functional and technology perspective, recruit talent for the team, act as a guide or mentor for the engineers, track, validate and demonstrate product release with an objective to ensure technical delivery of a release of the product within guidelines and norms of Infosys.
Required years of experience, training, technical skills, and other requirements for job performance:At least 11 years of experience in software development, software product management, and software maintenance At least 7 years of experience in Business Process Consulting, problem definition, and requirement elicitation. At least 3 years of experience in Product Engineering areas and ability to interface with customers and other stakeholders. Experience in implementing Public sector Services products for across clientsHands-on experience with product installation and deploymentAt least 5 years of experience in Understanding user needs: Represent user needs and monitor the product implementationExperience in Prioritizing features: Prioritize product features and capabilitiesExperience in Creating a roadmap: Create a product roadmap that outlines the product's vision, direction, priorities, and progress over timeExperience in Developing product pricing and positioning strategies, and translating product strategy into detailed requirementsExperience in aligning stakeholders’ priorities around product installation and deployment
Educational Requirements:A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a foreign equivalent is required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive, relevant work experience instead of every year of education.
The job entails sitting and working at a computer for extended periods. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face-to-face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
