Principal Contracts Administrator- AMPV
**Job Description** As part of the BAE Systems Combat Mission Systems Contracts team, you will work with experts in their respective fields to help support our service men and women by providing world class services and products that drive innovation. Whether it is a proposal or a long-running core contract, you will be a key part of an innovative and unique problem-solving team. The open Principal Contracts Administrator position supports contracting activities for the Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV), the latest Army Ground Vehicle acquisition in two decades. This multi-billion-dollar program is essential to the future of the Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT) and will fulfill the Army s strategy of protection, mobility, reliability, and interoperability. The AMPV will be integrated with the ABCT and will operate alongside the M1 Abrams tank and M2 Bradley. The program is currently completing the final phases of Low-Rate Initial Production and transitioning into Full-Rate Production of the five AMPV variants. The variants include a general purpose vehicle, mission command, mortar carrier, medical evacuation, and medical treatment versions. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a diverse cross functional team through Full Rate Production execution. This position may require additional duties such as providing support to other areas of the AMPV team. As a Principal Contracts Administrator, you will: + Implement strategies to advance critical business objectives. + Provide guidance to develop overarching negotiation strategies and objectives, and takes action necessary to resolve any impasses between BAE Systems and its customers. + Develop solutions to complex contracting and business issues, which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensure solutions are consistent with organization strategic and operational objectives. + Provide expertise, guidance, training, and leadership to support cross-functional business team members. Lead discussions and/or briefings with various leadership and other key personnel, participate in complex negotiations, and develop contract management strategies to mitigate risk. Ensure efficient and effective flow of information among Contracting team, leadership team, cross-functional teams, and/or customer(s) as needed. + Provide direction to team members to address and influence major contractual and business issues encountered in the proposal and execution of contracts of all types and complexity. + Train, motivate and assist cross functional team members to practice effective scope control strategies to enable early identification of constructive changes that may provide BAE Systems opportunities for equitable adjustments. + Interface with key government contracting and procurement officials as required and/or needed. + Undertake special assignments as required and perform others duties as assigned. + Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety objectives and policies. + Perform all aspects of assigned contract administration and execution management including, but not limited to, accuracy of order entry data, contract funding, scope changes, contract amendments, non-conformances, receipts and delivery schedules, legal requirements, ancillary documents, and other commitments. + Compile and maintain all required contractual records and documents in accordance with contract requirements and company policies and procedures. + Mentor junior contracts professionals. + This is a Hybrid position where you will be in the office 3 days per week. + This position is on a 9/80 schedule, where you will have every other Friday off. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Bachelor s degree and 6 years of relevant Contract Management experience or equivalent experience. + Major defense article acquisition and production contracting experience. + Proven business negotiator while exercising sound business judgement with experience engaging at high organizational levels or with persons of influence both internally and externally. + Highly developed critical thinking and communication skills with ability to influence and shape favorable business outcomes. + Excellent communication, presentation, team building and leadership skills, with the ability to perform in a complex cross-functional business environment. + Excellent writing skills is a must, with the ability to write clear and concise reports, business correspondence, and policies/procedures. + Ability to effect and manage change (both organizational and contractual). + Fixed Price Incentive Contract experience + Expert knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations + Experience with complex contracts and proposal preparation and execution + Experience mentoring and training junior staff members + Ability to interact professionally and effectively at all levels of the organization + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, solicitations/RFPs, or governmental regulations. + Strong business acumen and experienced in risk management. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + 7 or more years of related experience + CFCM or CPCM certification from NCMA. + JD and/or MBA degree. + Demonstrate specialized knowledge in an area of contracting such as, but not limited to certain contract types, commercial contracting, joint ventures, strategic alliances and intellectual property. + Significant ability to inform, influence, and advise senior corporate management. **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $87700 - $149100 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
