Job Description

As a key member of the team, you will oversee the development of health and hygiene programs, including exposure monitoring and wellness initiatives. You will analyse data to assess compliance and identify trends, providing actionable insights to improve workplace conditions. Collaborating with stakeholders, you will help implement strategies to minimise physical and psychosocial risks while ensuring robust reporting and governance practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development and implementation of health and hygiene strategies, programs, and KPIs.Provide expert guidance on hygiene incident investigations and compliance with regulatory standards.Oversee health monitoring systems and data analysis, delivering actionable recommendations.Collaborate with key operational stakeholders to develop and implement effective control measures to minimise or eliminate workplace hazards.Support reporting processes and the continuous improvement of management systems.Ensure the quality of data collection methods through annual audits.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Nursing, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH®) / Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or equivalent certification.

Experience and Skills

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in occupational hygiene within heavy industry (mining, oil & gas or construction).Ability to develop, implement, and manage Occupational Hygiene and Health Monitoring Programs and corporate-level strategies.Proficiency in conducting Hygiene Risk Assessments, hazard assessments, exposure monitoring, and data analysis.Technical competency in a range of personal exposure monitoring techniques.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Solid project management skills with the ability to engage successfully with workers and managers.Ability to communicate technical information to diverse stakeholders through written reports and oral presentations.Maintain Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH®) / Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or equivalent certification.
