Principal Cost Optimization Program Manager

Job Summary

This role will be a part of the Pan-PS Cost Optimization team, responsible for driving business critical, cross-organizational, and highly visible transformation initiatives spanning across all Personal Systems. Specifically, this individual will be responsible for being deeply integrated into one or more of the savings workstreams, concurrently, tracking / reporting progress of each, as well as facilitating alignment and prioritization of any required enablement activities being driven by one or more supporting organizations. Additionally, they will be responsible for the successful implementation / change management and governance of the associated new process, people, and/or tool changes resulting from each initiative.

Responsibilities

Identifies research, tools, and analyses required to achieve objectives for large, complex business strategy projects.Structures analytical approaches and develops project strategies and tactics.Develops recommendations for optimizing business and financial performance.Leads the development of project guidelines, contingency plans, objectives, and deliverables.Consults with business executives on a wide range of issues related to the strategy formulation process, including risk management and new growth opportunities.Provides thought leadership and contributes to expanding the knowledge base within area of expertise which includes developing new methods, techniques, and criteria for developing strategy analysis and recommendations.Collaborates across businesses, functions, and regions to align strategy and direction with corporate and divisional approaches, systems, information and support.Communicates program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to product stakeholders; collaborates with business unit management and internal manufacturing and development partners to recommend and implement changes to products, processes, or business practices to drive continuous improvement and manage program costs.

Education & Experience Recommended

Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.Typically has 10+ years of work experience, preferably in engineering development and implementation, project planning tools and software packages, people management, or a related field.

Excellent analytical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills.Ability to communicate abstract ideas clearly and independently manage complex project objectives.Extensive knowledge of and ability to manage statistical analysis and financial modeling.Advanced business acumen, technical knowledge within at multiple business units, and extensive knowledge in applications and technologies.Very strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence.Superior group facilitation, interviewing, and influence skills.Excellent project management skills, including project structuring and managing multiple work streams independently.Strong relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting.Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team- building, conflict resolution, and management.Ability to identify and draw on leading-edge analytical tools and techniques to develop creative approaches and new insights to client issues.Ability to independently draft and present client deliverables, recommendations, and communications strategies.

The base pay range for this role is $137,000 to $211,000 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only).  Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
