Principal Data and Automation Analyst

From creating integrated digital ecosystems which bring together engineering designs, geospatial layers and 3D reality capture from advanced cameras and drones to advanced digital solutions to assess geotechnical stability for infrastructure projects, predicting pipe breakages and automatically design water pipelines, data and automation is an essential part of the work we do. This will be a leadership role where you will have the opportunity to help shape the direction and culture for the team, to make a positive impact on the water services for our communities. 

 

About the role:   

 

Join our team as a Principal Data and Automation Analyst! In this pivotal role, you will provide technical leadership in data analysis and automation, supporting water services projects and contributing to our company's goals. You will act as a technical lead, and mentor, ensuring project outcomes meet both client and Stantec expectations. 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

Provide technical expertise in automation, analytics, and data engineering to meet project needs.  Develop and mentor junior staff, leading the data and automation analysts within the Regional Digital Practice.  Build strong relationships and foster a sharing culture across the Digital Practice and relevant streams.  Lead or support team development and recruitment for Data and Automation roles.  Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identify opportunities, and develop business in line with Stantec business strategies.  Lead proposal and bid development to support business development activities.  Ensure the delivery of robust data analytics and automated processes on time and within budget.  Promote and lead automation solutions within Stantec NZ and APAC for internal and external clients.  Fulfill the role of Project Technical Lead in delivering projects both internally and with external clients.  Lead the ongoing development, use and support of digital products. 

 

What we are looking for:  

Relevant tertiary qualification desirable (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science)  Proven experience in data analysis, automation, and project management.  Strong technical expertise in automation, analytics, and data engineering.  Experience with geospatial data  Experience using FME for data automation/transformation/engineering (FME Certified Professional preferred)   Experience with other data and automation technologies e.g. SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau  Experience designing and architecting digital solutions Experience supporting, coaching and mentoring team members.  Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.  Experience consulting and business development desirable.  Agile experience desirable.
