Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Data Engineer with strong expertise in data architecture, data engineering and experiences in Data Platforms and Data Mesh paradigm. Data Engineer will work closely with a multidisciplinary Agile team to build high quality data pipelines driving analytic solutions. These solutions will generate insights from the organization's connected data, enabling the organization to advance the data-driven decision-making capabilities of the organization's enterprise. 

This role requires an agile learner, possess strong problem-solving skills, work as part of a technical, cross functional analytics team, and want to solve complex data problems and deliver the insights to enable analytics strategy. Essential Functions

Solve complex data problems to deliver insights that helps the organization's business to achieve their goals  Build a Data Platform to help product teams, data analysts and data scientists to solve complex data problems and deliver insights and value in faster, easier and cheaper way.  Architect and implement a Lake House architect in the Data Platform that enables a data democratization in Bunge for any kind of structure or unstructured data. Create data products for analytics and data scientist team members to improve their productivity Mentor and coach other data and analytic professionals on data standards and practices Foster a culture of sharing, re-use, design for scale stability, and operational efficiency of data and analytical solutions Lead the evaluation, implementation and deployment of emerging tools and process for analytic data engineering in order to improve the organization's productivity as a team Develop and deliver communication and education plans on analytic data engineering capabilities, standards, and processes. Partner with business analysts and solutions architects to develop technical architectures for strategic enterprise projects and initiatives. Learn about machine learning, data science, computer vision, artificial intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics Ensure timely analysis and testing for regular maintenance of solutions over time Learn about machine learning, data science, computer vision, artificial intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics Establishes and implements Data strategy and Data model in the Bunge Data Platform.   Accountable for the results of a large and/or moderately complex project(s). Provides input on resource planning and policy development. Responsible for the roadmap execution and adjustment  Responsible for Data Strategy and Data modeling in the Data Products within Bunge Data Platform,  supporting all business domains.

 

Requirements

PhD in STEM field with research experience in Data Science or experience Post graduate degree in STEM field with 6+ years of experience as Lead/Principal Data Engineer Plays a significant role in developing other juniors, act as a technical consultant to product managers, and valued as an asset to any data science projects. Domain expert and functional advisor for business stakeholders in Data Engineering subjects using Cloud technologies.  Strong experience with Analytic services in GCP such as BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataform, DataProc or Dataflow Strong experience with Cloud: Google Cloud Platform (GCP preferred), AWS or Azure Strong Database development experience using Hadoop or Cloud MPP engines (BigQuery preferred) and experience with a variety of relational, NoSQL, and cloud database technologies. Handle most of the day-to-day communications with the product owners. Leads all internal meetings as well as weekly or fortnightly reports on the team’s progress. Divide their project into workstreams led by Senior Data Engineers and delegate tasks efficiently. Ensure that the project is well executed and deliverables are completed according to the timeline. Proficient in SQL and data analysis and experience with at least one programming language (Python or Scala preferred) Conceptual understanding of data mesh concepts and modern Lake-House data Architecture Can help business structure the data solution. Develop business awareness of possible use cases.  Lead Data Strategy and Data Modeling in the Bunge Data Platform  Leads technical discussion across other data Engineer to ensure best practices, approaches, and implementation. Orchestrate multiple data pipeline and data product projects working independently  Provides leadership to professionals and support staff.
