As a Principal Data Platform Architect, you will serve as the technical domain expert on foundational data and integration technologies to better support our business partners and development teams. You will steer technology strategy direction, define target state architectures, roadmaps, and help build reference architectures/implementations for scalable and resilient data platforms. You will also be responsible for identifying and evaluating emerging technologies beneficial to this domain. You will be expected to possess hands-on expertise in modern cloud technologies, including but not limited to Databricks, Dremio and Snowflake, and tools for data governance, protection, and quality. This position requires a practical approach to testing and validating architectural solutions in lab environments before certifying them, ensuring robustness and scalability. You will act as a thought leader in data architecture, providing guidance on governance, security, and compliance.
You will serve as the technical authority on foundational data and integration technologies, driving the technology strategy and target state architecture to support business goals. You will also evaluate emerging technologies, guiding the organization to adopt innovations that deliver value while minimizing disruption to end-users. Collaboration and thought leadership will be essential as you influence architects, engineers, and stakeholders to achieve strategic goals. You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent experience.You have demonstrated ability in defining, designing, and delivering enterprise-scale data strategies and data management solutions leveraging sound architecture principles, approaches, and patterns.You have at least 10 years of deep architecture and engineering experience with expertise in: Cloud-native data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Dremio), relational and NoSQL databases, data warehouse, big data/data lake, master data management, data modelling, data integration, data quality and governance, data engineering, BI reporting and analytics, data science, ML/AI, Python, Spark, AWS, and Azure.You have proven ability to define, design, and deliver enterprise-scale data strategies and solutions based on sound architectural principles using architectural choices that optimize performance, cost, and security.You have hands-on experience with modern data architecture patterns, including domain-driven design, event-driven architectures, stream processing, Lakehouse, service-based/APIs, data mesh, and/or data fabric.You have demonstrated capability to research, assess, and recommend new and emerging trends and implement emerging technologies with a focus on minimizing user disruption.You possess excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to generate and present compelling content to guide strategic decisions.You have adopted customer-centric approaches by prioritizing stakeholder needs, ensuring data solutions drive meaningful business impact and user experienceYou can build consensus across business and technology teams by fostering collaboration and shared ownership, partner with, and effectively influence architects and engineers to adopt/adhere to enterprise standards and deliver well-architected data-centric solutions while balancing technical depth with business outcomes.You can proactively identify and mitigate architectural risks while ensuring adherence to regulatory and compliance standards.You have prior experience in financial services industry/asset management space (preferred).
New York Base Salary Range: $239,966-$407,942
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
