Forcepoint is looking for a highly experienced Principal Endpoint Developer to join our team in the Campbell, CA office. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high quality software to our customers. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong technical background and the ability to get into the code and design process.   
 
  

Essential Functions: 

Planning, designing, developing and testing software systems or applications for endpoint products 

Debugging product-level issues, and identifying relevant faulty components, even outside of areas of deep specialization    

Working with Product Managers and other teams to consolidate requirements and requests into a cohesive roadmap or technical approach  

Proactively keeping up to date on industry and technological advancements, and presenting on those to the engineering groups  

Mentor for other less senior members on the team assisting in career development  

Champion best practices within the organization including but not limited to the following areas: design, architecture, code re-use, performance and quality.  

Work with engineering team across Forcepoint engineering to meet organizational goals and deliver high quality functionality to our customers   

Work closely with technical support to quickly qualify and resolve escalated customer issues related to the endpoint agent  

Work from the Campbell office three to four times per week as needed 

 

Experience or knowledge required:  

10+ years of experience with C/C++ on Windows and/or macOS  

Expert C/C++ coder with experience at the driver and kernel module layer.  

Excellent debugging skills. Reverse engineering techniques and debugging of user and kernel space code.  

Experience with Windows Filtering Platform on Windows and/or experience with system extensions on macOS.  

Knowledge of software development method, design and implementation  

Assembly language development experience is a plus 

Expertise in languages, tools, and techniques used to implement quality software products  

Experience developing endpoint security products  

Exposure to technical support processes and customer issue resolution  

Strong communication (written and oral) and teamwork behavior within a diverse team environment  

Self-motivated to research new skills and technologies (whether or not directly related to product)  

Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment  

 

For MacOS developers: 

Object C development experience on macOS is a must have 

macOS Endpoint security framework (ESF) related work experience is a plus 

Forcepoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $232,100.00 – $258,000.00 and represents the low and high end of compensation for this position. Actual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to, location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Forcepoint’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include bonuses, paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
