Principal Engineer, Global Facilities - Mechanical FAC

As a Global Facilities Mechanical Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible to provide high quality engineering services and specifications for the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of your subject area specific Facilities systems in support of semiconductor manufacturing across the Micron Global Manufacturing Network. You will participate in capacity and scenario planning across the network and evaluate impact of changes. In this role, you will support the Facilities Teams and Manufacturing sites across the network as an authority through all phases of design, construction, installation, start-up, operations and maintenance and will ensure environmental, safety, regulatory, and code compliance.

Design and Plan Systems and BuildingsProvide system designs for safe operations and maintenanceDevelop, review, and maintain the equipment and component specifications and standards for the corporation.Ensure material compatibilityEnsure designs follow all applicable standards, codes, and regulationsReview of the capacity planning databases (with Base Build capacities, POC assignments, and actual field conditions) across the network and validating utilization and diversity factor assumptions.Review and advise sites on periodic system status presentations (system capacity, actual load, and projected loads based on all approved scenarios, key system accomplishments, and challenges/issues)Assist sites with the evaluation of system and distribution capacity impacts based on scenario changes as requested.Review and advise on scope, schedule, and cost estimates for facilities infrastructure additions or modificationsJob Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering requiredMinimum 10-year experience in Semiconductor and/or Facilities related industryTechnical expertise, knowledge, and experience on Facilities and Semiconductor Mechanical and Process Systems including Cleanroom HVAC, Chilled Water, Heating Water, Makeup Air, Recirculation Air, Process Cooling Water, Process Exhaust, Compressed Air, Process Vacuum, General HVAC, etc.Ability to prioritize and schedule workload and work on multiple tasks concurrentlyGood organizational skills and Service attitudeExcellent communication skills and good team working skills, English RequiredSelf-motivated workerFamiliarity with Semiconductor Manufacturing and Facilities systemsProvide Project SupportProvide Micron specifications and standards to Design Firms and reviewing detailed designs and specifications for the installation of new facilities infrastructureProvide support for cost and schedule estimates and justification for approvalProvide supervision and coordination of consultant resources requiredEnsure appropriate communication with local Facilities, Design, Construction, Procurement and manufacturing partners as required to deliver project objectives and work.Be responsible for the timely review of design packages and providing documented comments and feedback as necessary.Work with appropriate personnel to address problems or make correctionsEnsure that scope meets customer and requestor needsEnsure organizational change procedures are followed.Monitor progress and provide engineering and design support during construction as required per project if necessary.Provide Technical Support, Leadership, and ExpertiseProvide consultation and support to Operations and Maintenance and Manufacturing as Technical Team AuthorityAnalyze system designs to identify improvements that will result in better performance, efficiency gains, reduced maintenance, and cost savingsSupport sites with problem analysis using standard tools and methodologies as requested.Provide Technical leadership and support to Procurement group on vendor qualifications, vendor selection and negotiations as needed.Conduct risk and failure mode and effects analysisEliminate single points of failure and mitigate riskBenchmark within and external to Micron sites on Engineering and Design Best Known Methods (BKMs) of Facilities buildings and systemsDevelop, own, and maintain Global System Standards, Specifications, and Best Known Method (BKM) standard documents for your field.Maintain innovative applicable domain knowledge (technological advances and innovation, chemical theory, instrumentation control theory, high purity principles, etc.)Maintain system and equipment support knowledge (reaction modes/mechanisms, hazard protocol, leak detection, etc.)
