As a Project Engineer, you will lead the commercial pump casting mitigations and transitions, managing risks and mitigation plans across product lines. You’ll work closely with the Value Stream, project teams, and casting technology to support plant output, track project budgets and schedules using EVMS, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Additionally, you’ll handle supplier transitions, process change requests, and provide clear communication with peers and leadership to ensure smooth project execution and continuous improvement.

What You Will Do

Provide Project Engineering leadership for commercial pump casting mitigations and transitionsIdentify, track, and manage mitigation plans for risks across pump product linesLiaise between the Value Stream, project teams, and casting technology / producibility as necessary to support plant outputResolve Supplier Requests for Information (SRIs) by providing clarifications and processing Change Requests (CRs)Manage piece part supplier transitionsEstimate and track project budget and schedule utilizing EVMS decision makingPursue cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.Consolidate and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project.Support Quality investigations as necessary when piece-part issues affect product deliveries.Verify internal processes are being executed to reduce probability of engineering turnbacks.Read and interpret drawings, provide mark ups, and coordinate drawing changesFeed back production issues and observations to the New Products team to support design and process improvements.Confidently provide clear, concise communications with peers and Collins leadership.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

Qualifications We Prefer

Mechanical Engineering DegreeDemonstrated leadership in a production role is preferredExperience with casting manufacturing and mechanical hardware is preferredExperience working with cross functional teams across department and business units is preferred

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
