We are seeking an Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) Engineer. The positions will be located on the beautiful campus of Gilbert, AZ. In this role you will be responsible for developing hardware and software for automated ground support test equipment to validate flight hardware. You will work closely with expert hardware and software engineers to understand component and satellite designs and create test set solutions that effectively and efficiently test them.

Job Responsibilities:

Under moderate supervision, you will be responsible for:Lead the software development efforts using VISIO, National Instrument LabVIEW of individual Test racks and other development tools and equipment from the requirements definition to design, build, test electronic ground support equipment.Design of software for component test equipment (CTE) using National Instrument LabVIEW.Responsible for leading design reviews associated with the build, design, integration and delivery of electronic ground support equipment for flight and non-flight spacecraft electronics at the circuit card assemblies (CCA) and higher-level assemblies (box) and spacecraft level testing.Support of the test and integration debug for flight and non-flight spacecraft electronics at the circuit card assemblies (CCA) and higher-level assemblies.On occasion be responsible for provided status to CAMs ensuring that the technical requirements, cost, and schedule for the CTE system development is achievedWork closely with the Test Engineer and UUT Design Engineer to ensure the CTE system will validate the circuit cards and/or electronics system under all environmental testingAs part of a design team, be responsible for the end-to-end design, debug, test, and certification of CTE systemHave the responsibility for the documentation development and release of the CTE system

To be successful in this role you should have:

Experience designing test automated Test Software using National Instruments LabVIEWStrong past software engineering experienceAbility to lift and install cabling, junction boxes, and other electrical equipmentPrevious designed electronic componentsTest Engineering experienceGood electrical skillsetGood communication skillsCircuit Analysis and TroubleshootingExperience working in small teamsExperience reading cabling drawings, wiring diagrams, and circuit schematics

In this role, you will join a team of 2-4 EGSE Engineers and take little direction from the EGSE Software Engineering Manager. You will also interface with the subsystem engineers to obtain design requirements. Early on, there will software development work that requires scripting and automation of instruments to perform test sequences according to a test plan. The next phase will be spent in a lab performing integration with the UUT, and troubleshooting any problems with the automated test suites.

This position can be filled at the Engineer or Principal Engineer level.

Basic Qualifications:

Engineer

Requires BS in a STEM field (ideally Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering) with 2 years of experience; or Master’s degree; or a PhDProficiency in an industry standard Programming Language (LabVIEW, C/C++LabWindows  CVI, etc.) Position will require being able to create/code projects independently.

Principal Engineer

Requires BS in a STEM field (ideally Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering) with 5 years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience; or a PhDUS CitizenshipProficiency in an industry standard Programming Languages (i.e. C/C++, Python, LabVIEW, etc.) Position will require being able to create/code projects independently

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience developing instrument drivers and test scripts for use in ATE/CTEStrong programming skills using LabVIEW, and LabWindows CVI and/or C/C++Experience developing test application software to interface with test equipment COTS along with instrument driversExperience in the test and debug of hardware and software systemsA fundamental understanding of general and specialized test equipment to include Signal Generators, Logic Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, DMMs, switching matrices, loads and Power equipment.Experience working in an AGILE/SCRUM environment and adherence with meeting schedule commitments

Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $115,800.00Salary Range 2: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
