Job Summary

The Design Engineering Team is responsible for maintaining the design and licensing bases requirements of the station. One of the primary functions of Design Engineering is to develop modification packages and review any changes to the station to ensure all associated design and licensing requirements remain met and configuration control is maintained.

A Design Engineering Electrical/Instrumentation & Control engineer is responsible for changes to the plants electrical systems, in addition to maintaining the station's electrical analyses and calculations. This position will be more focused on Instrumentation & Control and support of digital upgrades to plant components. Previous experience in development of modification packages, digital equipment, and uncertainty analysis is desirable.

Develop modification packages to support station changes and upgradesProvide innovative engineering solutions to complex problemsMaintain the technical conscience for the station and demonstrate accountability for technical products and recommendationsParticipate in and lead special projects or teams on occasionPerform reviews specific to digital upgrades to ensure all requirements are metIdentifies and performs tasks as required to meet objectives

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements:

BS or greater in an Engineering discipline (Electrical preferred)8 yrs related job experience (at least 5 years in nuclear power plant environment preferred)Extensive knowledge in Electrical/Instrumentation & Control design engineeringKnowledge of digital equipment including control systems, transmitters, indicators, and instrumentation is preferredProficient with technical evaluation processes.Knowledge of electrical/instrumentation & control component design performance characteristics and specificationsExperience in performing 10CFR50.59 reviews is preferredCommunication –Must be able to effectively communicate with peers, management and/or represent Vistra’s interests to outside agenciesAble to execute projects/strategies with some oversight.
