Job Description:
The position is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of utility system projects from design to completion. This role involves collaborating with project managers to recruit and allocate resources, developing detailed project plans and timelines, and managing the design, installation, commissioning, and qualification of systems across multiple disciplines. Ensures that all activities comply with safety, regulatory, and company standards, while also controlling the project budget and mitigating risks. They will act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for utility systems, review and approve project documentation, and ensure proper document management and system change control. Regular project updates, coordination across teams, and proactive issue escalation are key to the role’s success.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the project manager to recruit project staff if need and ensure the project is adequately resourced.Develop the project plan, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring alignment across related sub-project managers.Manage the overall planning, coordination, and execution of the project from design to completion to meet the objectives.Oversee the design, installation, commissioning, and qualification of systems across multiple disciplines, ensuring compliance with safety, performance, regulatory, and Lilly standards.Manage the project budget and be accountable for individual cost control.Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks, ensuring that potential delays or challenges are addressed proactively.Escalate issues timely to minimize the project’s impact.Provide regular project updates and facilitate project meetings.Ensure proper document management, including project files, C&Q documents, and procedures.Leverage lessons learned from previous projects to improve performance and minimize risks on the current project.Act as the SME for Utility systems to ensure the design meets regulatory and Lilly standard requirements.Review and approve the C&Q plan, protocol, and execution to ensure the Utility systems meet the intended use.Manage system change control.Review and approve the construction, installation, and verification plan to ensure HSE, quality, functionality, and future maintenance needs are met.Complete other tasks as assigned by the manager.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Engineering or a related field.Familiar with pure water systems, pure steam systems, and WFI systems.Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in engineering pharmaceutical or related industries.Project management experience, and participation in large-scale projects.Proficient in the qualification, and maintenance of clean utility systems, experience of design and construction are preferred.Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing with a strong understanding of GMP, regulations, and Lilly standards and practices.Proficient in both Chinese and English for communication and documentation.Knowledgeable about Lilly HSE and related regulations.Lilly is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities to actively engage in the workforce, ensuring equal opportunities when vying for positions.
