Job Description:
The Principal Engineer - EG HVAC & Gray Utility will lead and manage HVAC and gray utility projects for Filling Line 2's including HVAC, UAF, VOC, chillers, cooling towers, compressed air, and more. This role encompasses the full project lifecycle, from design to complete, with an emphasis on technical expertise, system commissioning, and qualification. As the SME for HVAC and gray utility systems, this individual will oversee design reviews, construction planning, and execution, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure all systems meet regulations, GMP standards, Lilly standards and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the project manager to ensure the project is adequately resourced.Develop the project plan, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring alignment across related sub-project managers.Manage the overall planning, coordination, and execution of the project from design to completion to meet the objectives.Oversee the design, installation, commissioning, and qualification of systems across multiple disciplines, ensuring compliance with safety, performance, regulatory, and Lilly standards.Manage the project budget and be responsible for individual cost control.Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks, ensuring that potential delays or challenges are addressed proactively.Escalate issues timely to minimize the project’s impact.Provide regular project updates and facilitate project meetings.Ensure proper document management, including project files, C&Q documents, and procedures.Leverage lessons learned from previous projects to improve performance and minimize risks on the current project.Serve as the SME for HVAC and gray utility systems within the project scope, providing oversight and guidance on system design to ensure ensuring systems meet performance, compliance, and quality standards.Participate MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) construction plan reviews to confirm constructability and alignment with GMP and industry standards.Oversee construction activities, conducting regular check-ins and acceptance inspections to ensure installations meet design specifications and quality standards.Lead commissioning and qualification activities for HVAC and gray utility systems, ensuring system performance meets GMP and Lilly standards.Manage system change control.Complete other tasks as assigned by the manager.Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related technical field is required.Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in HVAC and gray utility engineering, with specific expertise in managing GMP-compliant projects within pharmaceutical, or related industries.Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, gray utility systems and related equipment.Project management experience, and participation in large-scale projects.Proficient in the qualification, and maintenance of HVAC and gray utility engineering, experience of design and installation are preferred.Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing with a strong understanding of GMP, regulations, and Lilly standards and practices.Proficient in both Chinese and English for communication and documentation.Knowledgeable about Lilly HSE and related regulations.Lilly is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities to actively engage in the workforce, ensuring equal opportunities when vying for positions.
