About the Role

As a Principal Engineer in Highways Services, you will play a crucial role in managing teams and delivering a variety of highway and transportation projects. Reporting to the Group Engineer overseeing Contract Management, your key responsibilities will include:

Developing and implementing a Highway Procurement Strategy.Planning and developing contract documentation.Managing existing contracts and ensuring Value for Money (VfM).Overseeing contract performance and compliance.Leading and managing a team with minimal supervision.Engaging with internal and external stakeholders.


About You
We are looking for a Principal Engineer with the following essential skills and experience:

Professional technical knowledge in highway and transportation projects.Experience in managing the delivery of engineering projects.Competence in financial and resource management.Ability to implement effective and innovative delivery solutions.Project management skills, preferably PRINCE2 based.Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.Leadership skills to motivate and inspire junior staff.
