About the team:      

This team is part Value Added Platform (VAP) is domestic eCommerce payment processor solution for US & Canada. It accepts payments from major card brands, ACH, mobile & digital wallets, gift cards, etc. It is US’s largest debit and credit card processor with average of 35 million mobile, online, and in-store payments per day. It also provides international merchants a “one stop shop” integration for global and US payment processing. Value added services provide merchants with the most advanced tools and data they need to increase and protect their revenue, reduces costs and grow with experts.

What you'll own

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of various platform components.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.Work closely with product managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Ensure the security and compliance of the payment processing platform.Optimize the platform for scalability and performance to handle high transaction volumes.Provide technical leadership and guidance in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of the platform.Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and methodologies to improve the platform.Provide production support and ensure high availability of the payment processing platform.Develop and maintain incident response protocols and procedures.Coordinate with support teams to manage and resolve production incidents.Perform root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.Ensure timely communication and updates to stakeholders during production incidents.

What you bring

· 10+ years of experience in Java/JavaEE Must have payment domain exposure

· Strong understanding of system architecture and general programming concepts and best practices and ability to lead solutions within them

· Working experience with different RDMS or DW (preferably IBM DB2) and SQL, PL/SQL language

· Experience in Spring Framework/Spring Boot Applications.

· Experience working on Unix/Linux system as primary OS

· Experience working on TomEE, Tomcat

· Experience in Distributed/Federated cache

· Experience of working across the whole software development & support lifecycle

· Sound understanding and experience of the Agile software development lifecycle

· Experience with different requirements tracking systems like JIRA or Rally

· Experience of working with onshore/offshore partner organizations

· Strong analytical skills, able to provide support to solve business or production problems

· Excellent communication skills, able to articulate technical and non-technical issues

· Responsive, assertive and drive a continuous improvement ethos in all interactions

· Fluent English (written/verbal)

Bonus if you have:

Experience of working with message-based applicationsExperience working in monolith architecture with multiple inter-dependent modulesKnowledge of the global payments industry or a good understanding of payments transaction life cycle
