This position may be filled as a Principal Manufacturing Engineer-3 based on the qualifications below.
Core Responsibilities:
Accountable for technical ownership of process, optimization, and disposition including top-level and subassemblies.Accountable for the creation and maintenance of manufacturing Work Orders and Routers, and disposition of non-conforming parts and assemblies via site Manufacturing Execution System (MES).Support of manufacturing capacity planning optimization for responsible production lines.Provides technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organizational objectives.Support of Digital Transformation initiatives.Accountable for process control, quality, safety, delivery, and rework metrics for responsible production lines.Support of manufacturing proposals & basis-of-estimates (BOE’s) for potential contracts.Solid written and verbal communication skills.Solid interpersonal and critical thinking skills.Solid presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas.Commitment to ethics and complianceAbility to collaborate in a team environment.Ability for infrequent travel (<10%).Accountable for the creation and release of:Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM)Manufacturing Changes (MC)Work Instructions/Manufacturing Process Plans (MPP)Standard Manufacturing Process (SMP) documentsvia Siemens Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.General knowledge of other related disciplines.Passion for achieving manufacturing and operational results.Action-oriented with the ability to make quick decisions in response to changing conditions.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication, or production manufacturing operation; ORmaster’s degree with 3 years of experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication, or manufacturing operations.
Note: An additional 4 years of exempt/professional-level experience in engineering, production assembly/fabrication, or production manufacturing operation experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Ability to collect and analyze production data to identify trends and help make decisions regarding process improvement?U.S. citizenshipThe ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Aerospace or defense product experience: Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) Systems, Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation (LASER), Optics and Imaging.Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field.High proficiency experience in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) problem-solving and Continuous Improvement (CI).Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/A).Experience with Process Control Method (SPC/control charts).Experience with Process Capability Analysis (Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk).Broad technical experience in Value Stream manufacturing operations.Experience with Risk Management identification and mitigation.Experience with a Manufacturing Execution System (MES).Experience with Siemens Teamcenter Product Life-cycle Management (PLM).Experience with SAP S/4 HANA Cloud ERP system.Experience in CREO CAD Software or equivalent.Proficiency in MS Office (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)MANUMS
Salary Range: $86,600.00 - $130,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
