Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for a Principal Engineer Quality / Sr. Principal Engineer Quality to support the Quality and Mission Assurance team located in Apopka, FL.
Primary Responsibilities
Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials productAssesses program performance and risks related to quality requirements to ensure contractual requirements are metReview and assess contractual requirements for applicability.Perform cost account management-related activities on programs supportingEstablish and maintain constructive working relationships with customersCollaborates with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain functions to ensure quality standards are in place and metSupport program gate reviews as requiredDesigns and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.Work from engineering drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, inspection instructions, and checklists to ensure items meet required specifications and quality standardsInitiate Corrective Action Plans and work with suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering personnel to identify the root cause and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented.Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements.Applies technical knowledge in industry-standard quality engineering methods, interpretation of drawing requirements and applicable specifications & standards, and mechanical measurement & analysisWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsBasic Qualifications Level 3:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related STEM field with 5 Years experience; 3 Years experience with Masters; 1 Year experience with PhD.Experience in written and verbal technical communication skillsExperience interpersonal skills – including the ability to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with stakeholders and customers at all levels, ranging from conversations on the shop floor to briefing senior managementExperience with Quality Management Systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.)Understanding of risk management principles and contractual requirement reviewAbility to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.US Citizenship Required.Basic Qualifications Level 4:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related STEM field with 8 Years experience; 6 Years experience with Masters; 4 Years experience with PhD.Experience in written and verbal technical communication skillsExperience interpersonal skills – including the ability to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with stakeholders and customers at all levels, ranging from conversations on the shop floor to briefing senior managementExperience with Quality Management Systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.)Understanding of risk management principles and contractual requirement reviewAbility to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.US Citizenship Required.Preferred Qualifications
Earned Value Management CAM experienceASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)Strong background in design and/or manufacturing of electromechanical, electro-optical, and/or opto-mechanical systems.Seasoned facilitator for Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activitiesWell-versed in the application of industry-standard statistical methods, including through the implementation of statistical analysis software applications (e.g., Minitab)Experience maintaining positive supplier relationships, including through successful resolution of supplier quality challengesActive DoD Secret ClearanceMANQME
Salary Range: $86,600.00 - $130,000.00Salary Range 2: $107,800.00 - $161,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
