Our employees are not only part of history, they are making historyNorthrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer in our Chandler, AZ facility. This position will provide systems engineering support, focusing on managing the CDRL/SDRL submittals in preparation for key milestone meetings (CDR, etc.) on the Sentinel program.  This position will require the Principal Systems Engineer to ensure that CDRLs/SDRLs are provided to the customer per the IMS; create and update metrics to track the CDRL/SDRL status; and improve the process between us and the customer.  Additionally, the Principal Systems Engineer will work with leadership to ensure entrance and exit criteria for key milestone meetings, and associated deliverables, are planned out and delivered on time.  Finally, this Principal Systems Engineer may be requested to support requirements derivation, decomposition, and capture in DOORS and CAMEO.

Essential Functions:

Identify, tracking and deliver CDRLs/SDRLs to the Sentinel customer per the schedule in the IMSReport the status of all CDRLs/SDRLs on at least a monthly basisUnderstand the entrance and exit criteria for key milestone meetings; ensure that the team delivers all necessary Objective Evidence on time to support the planned meetings; and track compliance to the identified criteriaTrack and report the status of other program activities as requiredAssist in the development, decomposition, refinement and documentation of system, subsystem and component requirements and capabilities to support the Sentinel program.  This includes ensuring the system architecture is captured in CAMEO and corresponding requirements are captured in DOORS (and that the two are consistent).Collaborate with senior systems engineers and other disciplines to support the development of the Sentinel deliverablesLead small ad-hoc teams in the execution of tasking per the Integrated Master Schedule as required

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 3 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with no experienceInterim Secret DoD security clearance, or higher – work is performed in a closed area full time (100% onsite / 100% Closed area)Experience with CDRLs/SDRLsExperience with tracking / metrics of programmatic deliverablesProcess improvement experienceStrong Oral and Written communication skillsAbility to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and nontechnical personnelExperience with compliance to requirements / customer expectations

Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
