Job Description:

We are seeking a Principal Engineer-Validation to join our development teams in the 32-bit microcontroller division.

Reporting to the manager of the analog validation group, you will be part of the 32-bit Microcontroller Validation team, based at Chandler, USA.
You will work with team members located in Nantes (France), Bangalore (India), and other corporate team members worldwide (UK, Philippines …).

You will validate the analog modules embedded in our 32-bit microcontrollers to extract the electrical performance characteristics required for the product datasheet specification. You will also contribute to the development of our analog and parametric test infrastructure.

Significant time will be spent developing test cases, performing lab bench experiments, and assisting other team members in the validation of 32-bit microcontrollers.

Although you are not an expert in analogue electronics, you have a keen interest in this field. If you have experience of digital validation, this job could be a good match for your skills and interests.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the development of the new 32-bit microcontrollers within the project teams

Collaborate with international teams in analog design, integration, validation, application, and product engineering

Specify the validation plans of analog modules to be validated

Design hardware schematics (Altium Designer)

Develop automated lab-based testing of microcontrollers for analog modules.

Debug new products with the design teams to identify the root cause of issues

Analyze the measurement results, correlate with design simulations and create reports for each analog module (IP)

Specify of the electrical performance of IPs for the product datasheet

Contribute to the overall improvement of methods, quality and the optimization of our validation processes (tools, test infrastructure, improvement of measurement methods, data processing, etc.).

Collaborate with analog design and contribute to customer support analysis when accurate analog measurements are required

Requirements/Qualifications:

bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering (or equivalent)

10 years of related work experience

Good knowledge of analog electronics

Strong experience of measurement methods and the use of equipment such as: oscilloscope, arbitrary waveform generator, multimeter, current and voltage source, etc.... (optional: spectrum analyzer, vector network analyzer)

Experience in developing automatic test benches

Strong problem solving, analytical and debugging skills

Coding in C

Microcontrollers: digital/analogue functions

English Level: Fluent

NI Labview/TestStand tools

Experience with Analog peripherals: ADC, DAC, PLL, analog comparator, crystal oscillator, Operational amplifier (Opamp), supply monitoring (Power On Reset, Brown Out Detector), regulator, voltage reference (bandgap)

Electronic board design: schematics, layout (Altium designer)

Knowledgeable in collaborative tools: JIRA, Confluence, GIT

Work in an international environment (Europe, Asia, USA) with different teams (Architecture, IC Design, Analog Library, Applications, Marketing, Product and Test Engineering).

Make decisions and adapt quickly
