Position Description:
Designs and develops web services using Java, Python and Go. Develops and builds Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) by using frameworks -- Dropwizard and Jety. Deploys application builds according to Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) methodologies using Stash and Jenkins Core. Supports software capabilities within cloud environments, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and with its related services -- Lambda, AWS DynamoDB, and AWS SQS. Automates pipelines using Agile environment tools -- Jira. Secures, scalable and innovative cloud-native solutions by leveraging software tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform.
Primary Responsibilities:
Participates in architecture design teams.
Defines and implements application level architecture.
Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
Advises senior management on technical strategy.
Mentors junior team members.
Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Full Stack Engineer (or closely related occupation) project managing the design, development, and delivery of customer-facing online transaction processing financial applications.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Full Stack Engineer (or closely related occupation) project managing the design, development, and delivery of customer-facing online transaction processing financial applications.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing Object-Oriented design and Java Web application development, using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Security, micro-services, RESTful Web Services, or SOAP; and developing chatbots with RASA NLU (Natural Language Understanding) using Python.
DE designing and developing enterprise Cloud-based security solutions using Amazon Cloud Computing Services -- EKS, EC2, and IAM, S3, Lambda, RDS, or Elasticache services -- and improving security of these solutions using Web security technologies (OAuth Encrypted Key Management, Applications Secrets Management, and SAML), AWS KMS, AWS WAF or AWS Crypto to improve the security.
DE developing and maintaining responsive UI applications, using JavaScript frameworks, Angular, Node.js, Express, JQuery, AJAX, or Bootstrap CSS; performing unit and functional testing for API and Selenium IDE/Jest User Interfaces (UIs), using Junit, Mockito, or Powermockito; and developing virtual assets for functional and scalability testing, using Wiremocks.
DE integrating build processes according to Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), using Jenkins and GitLab as a CI platform and Urban Deploy as a CD platform; and deploying REST microservice applications in AWS using Terraform and Cloud Formation Template (CFT).
