Position Overview and Responsibilities:
MTSI is seeking a Principal GNC Engineer; the ideal candidate will have 20+ years’ experience in missile systems development including ballistic and hypersonic missiles, tactical missiles/weapons, BMDS interceptors and kill vehicles, on-board algorithms, and analysis.
Work and interface with customers to provide detailed analytical products of emerging missile and weapon system concepts for MDA’s Advanced Technology organization.Lead and support several on-going missile programs and the development of corporate tool sets.Lead a small team of engineers/developers to prototype, implement, and test weapon system concepts using legacy high-fidelity 6-DOF simulations written in FORTRAN.Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical field required. Master’s degree preferred with 20+ years' experience.
Required Clearance:
Active security clearance required along with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
Required Skills:
Must have demonstrated capability in performance analysis, design, integration, and testing of GNC systems for use in offensive and defensive missile systems.Experience with 6-DOF simulation models of:AerodynamicsAutopilots Design and TuningGuidance AlgorithmsNavigation Systems & filtersPropulsionDemonstrated ability to formulate and conduct analyses at the missile system and subsystem level to support requirements development and performance assessment.Demonstrated skill sets in simulation/software development, expertise in at least one high level programming language (C, C++, FORTRAN, python).Experience in technical leadership and management
