Principal Industrial Engineer, Business Process Excellence

The Principal Industrial Engineer, BPE drives manufacturing improvement through knowledge in design, development, testing, evaluating, and integrating production systems including standards and methods analysis, inventory & quality control, planning, logistics, and the material flow and coordination between them. This role is responsible for improving the site's productivity through the management of people, equipment, technology, and production methods. **Duties & Responsibilities** + Applies and leads Lean principles like Six Sigma or Theory of Constraints in combination with technologies to drive transformation through Boehringer Ingelheim Business Operating System (BOS). + Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, supply chain, and site leadership to ensure sustainability of best practices and solutions. + Reviews statistical and analyze manufacturing data to determine areas of opportunity to implement solutions that enhance quality, and compliance. + Improves and optimizes Process, Material and People Flows in bottleneck environments through process mapping and spaghetti diagrams. + Conducts Time Studies & Methods Analysis where needed to identify opportunities for improvement and facilitate Standard Work: 3 components being work sequence, combination sheet, and the detailed work element. + Recommends methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and machine capability. + Develops and deploys Value Stream Mapping to help stakeholders see the value vs. waste analysis. + Supports the local tier structure and 5S initiatives in areas of focus. + Involvement in facility layout planning, equipment selection, and process optimization. **Requirements** + Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in industrial engineering to include internship experience with a focus in manufacturing operations and process improvement.
