Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire an Principal Inventory Planning Control. This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

What you’ll get to do:
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
Maintains schedules for material requirements and availability for the manufacture of industrial and commercial products to support production control.
Compiles records concerning quantity, cost, and type of material received, shipped, in stock inventory, and/or in production.
Expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules.
Expedite Material Review Board MRB action resolution with appropriate organizations for disposition of nonconforming materials.
Verification of tool requirements and availability prior to work start in various cost centers and maintain tool accountability with Property organization.
Ensure closeout of Production paperwork for sell-off of fabrication and assembly materials and kits
Initiate Outside Production activities as related to engineering part requirements.
Determines possible and actual shortages, and initiates action to correct these deficiencies. Provide shortage reports on a regular cadence to senior leadership.
Analyze Production team’s shortage impact and communicate back to Global Supply Chain for re-order as required.
Demonstrated proficiency to interface with manufacturing supervisory personnel regarding performance and deliveries in accordance with schedules and cost efficiencies.
Interface with support groups outside of Logistics for preparation of required paperwork, resolution of discrepancies/ material shortages/ rejected material.
Uses knowledge of production, procurement, and engineering departments to alert proper authorities regarding potential problems and appropriate remedial action.
Estimates and logs production rate and time expenditures and may be required to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications
A Bachelors degree with 5 Years of related experience; OR 3 Years with Masters; Or 1 Year with PhD. Will consider 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
Experience with SAP or similar ERP software for inventory management and/or tracking.
Experience in manufacturing workflow and/or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems or similar.
Basic computer skills, including MS Office
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform 50% desk work and 50% production floor integration responsibilities with the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Must be able to move stock/inventory/materials around the manufacturing floor and various business units.
Preferred Qualifications
These qualifications would be nice to have:
Leadership Experience in managing warehouse inventory and warehouse management functions.
Demonstrated proficiency to determine and set priorities to meet production schedules; re-establish priorities as schedule requirements dictate.
Experience with creating purchase orders and managing flow of inventory for a Bill of material.
Experience in manufacture and production line operations.
Experience with managing inventory for Bill of Material to higher assemblies and audit trail to support higher assembly movements.
Knowledge of shipping and receiving functions and ERP systems.
Knowledge of Quality clauses and quality requirements.
Very strong communication skills with ability to build customer relationships.
Strong time management skills and maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
High degree of creativity and ability to solve a wide range of problems independently.
Salary Range: $79,100.00 - $118,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
