Role: Principal - ITSM / ServiceNow
As a Principal, you will focus on maturing ITSM practices through optimization of ITSM / cross functional dependencies: Incident / Major Incident, Problem Management, Change Management, Knowledge Management or Configuration / Asset Management, to drive best practice in everything we do.
You will work with IT Leadership, ServiceNow Architects and Developers to align processes with tool functionality, and promote a culture of Continuous Service Improvement across ITSM within the IT Team and across the enterprise. You will also bring a passion for ServiceNow capabilities and solutioning skills. You’ll help our ServiceNow product owners overcome challenges using modern, best in class architectural approaches, tools and technologies to maximize the value of our ServiceNow platform. You’ll make sure the solution developed by the team considers the architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the function is built on ITSM best practice and that this is reflected in the way the platform is configuredDevelop and maintain strategic roadmap and collaborate with our development team to align on upgrade and patching timing Oversee the overall prioritization of work across all ServiceNow capability owners including (example of modules: ITSM, ITOM, IRM/GRC, HR) Enable solutions to problems with a complete end-to-end solution in a fast, agile environment. Ensure the function sufficiently documented, trained and communicated to the whole support organization.Manage strategic relationship of ServiceNow and other service partners Develop AI strategy and roadmap and oversight of implementation for automation and emerging ServiceNow capabilities across the platform Oversee data governance strategy for critical data elements across all ServiceNow capabilities Optimize the operating model of the function and oversee process architecture across the platformKey Skills/Experience
7+ years of management/ITSM experience 5+ years of experience with software design and development / ServiceNow platform administration, including access administrationBachelor’s degreeNice To Haves
Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies and participating in the software development life cycle (SDLC) Experience with requirements management, and JIRA or similar RTM platforms ServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator or Security+ CE Certification ITIL v3 Foundations or ServiceNow Certification, including Certified Application Developer, Certified System Administrator, or Certified Implementation SpecialistSalary Range:
$114,700 - 194,900 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
