Siemens Technology (T) is seeking a dynamic Principal Key Expert for Configuration and Planning in Vienna, Austria, to drive this topic as part of a global Technology Field ‘Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence’ with teams in USA, China, India, Romania, and Germany.
Configuration and Planning are prominent applications of Symbolic Artificial Intelligence and are highly relevant key technologies for the whole product and solution life cycle, including product offerings, configure-price-quote processes, production planning and optimization, service and maintenance in operations, and re-use and recycling at the end-of-life. The Principal Key Expert drives and guides the research and development activities on AI-based configuration and planning technologies, initiates projects, and ensures business impact for Siemens under compliance to sustainability goals.

Take responsibility for designing and driving the technology roadmap and the sustainable development of our Configuration and Planning technology portfolio, in particular with a strong focus on the newest trends in AI, e.g. GenAI and the combination of logic-based and data-based AI formalisms and technologies.Transform our tools and solutions for complex tasks in the business processes of our industries (e.g. Digital Factories, Energy Grids, Mobility) to the next level by analyzing technical (market) trends, analyze current state of technology, and derive improvement actions. Initiate projects with Siemens business units to support them solving customer demands where configuration technologies can make a difference.Initiate research projects inside Siemens Technology as well as with external community partners, including academia and companies in the respective technology area.Technically advise management (technology roadmap, strategy questions, contract review, etc.) and business partners on implementation of complex tasks with regards to system concepts, innovation, technical risk potential, and competitor analysis. Actively and systematically develop patent portfolios.Be an active part of expert network inside of Siemens (Technology and Business Units) and in academia, contribute to committees, e.g. in standardization, and present /publish scientific results on international conferences /in refereed journals.Share your expertise with colleagues resulting in increased methodology and tool competence of the team. Guide and mentor the members of the Siemens expert community.The skills you bring to move the world forward.

The gross annual salary for this position is at least EUR 64.734,-. Depending on education and experience, overpayment is possible.
