Raytheon is seeking a talented Principal Linux System Administrator to join our team in a classified environment. As a Linux System administrator, you will be responsible for the monitoring and support of systems that are operational 24x7 and which occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.

What You Will Do:

You will perform routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, accurately document issues in logging and discrepancy reporting tools, support system engineering groups as needed for ongoing analysis and integration efforts, design/implement updates to satisfy requirements flowed down from engineering, and upgrade existing COTS products to targeted baselines. Must be able to support occasional after hour maintenance and on-call support.Must be able to lift up to35 pounds in support of hardware installations.Up to 5% travel.Before start date must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date. IAT Level 2 requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, CND 

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or a master’s degree and minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experienceMust have Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI CI Poly security clearance, which is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearanceExperience in Linux RedHat, Windows, and VMware Systems AdministrationExperience with storage and compute products from NetApp, Hitachi, Dell, HP, and Spectra LogicExperience with COMSECExperience with network products from Cisco, Juniper, and Brocade Experience presenting technical information to customers, clients, and/or internal audiencesQualifications We Prefer:The ability to work effectively with frequent and direct customer interaction in a real-time operational environmentThe ability to work under pressure in restoring high priority systems back to operationsAbility to navigate, debug, and modify programs in an advanced programming languageAbility to write PERL, python, and shell scriptsExperience presenting technical information to customers, clients, and/or internal audiencesExperience with network products from Cisco, Juniper, and Brocade Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiencyRequires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendorsWorking knowledge of thin-client technologies

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
