Babcock is looking for a Principal Reliability Engineering Technician to join the Engineering Supprt team based in Devonport, Auckland on a 2 year fixed-term contract.
About the role
Join our team as a Principal ILS Engineering Technician (Supportability) and play a crucial role in ensuring the Royal New Zealand Navy’s operational readiness. You will lead critical supply support and obsolescence management tasks that keep our maritime platforms and equipment fully capable through their service lifecycle. Your work will help deliver cost-effective material solutions while offering strategic input to ILS projects and enhancing your leadership skills.

About you
You are an experienced professional with a solid background in supply chain management and obsolescence support within a military or defence setting. Your attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills allow you to manage complex logistics challenges effectively. You excel in leadership roles, guiding technical teams while continuously improving processes. With your in-depth knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support and codification systems, you ensure that material systems remain fully operational and cost-effective throughout their lifecycle.
Key required skills
Expertise in Military Integrated Logistics and Information Systems (MILIS) Proficiency with NATO Codification System Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Excellent written and verbal communication Leadership in mentoring and technical documentation
Key Required Qualifications
Diploma or Associate Degree in a technical discipline 8+ years of experience in supply chain and ILS programs
