The role
 
We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic team based in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. This role is pivotal in overseeing sustaining capital projects for major mining clients, including BHP, Rio Tinto, and FMG. You will manage a multidisciplinary team and work closely with senior leaders to deliver innovative solutions for mineral processing plants.
This position offers a pathway to permanency for the right candidate and the opportunity to work on high-profile projects in collaboration with some of the industry’s best talent.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of approximately 20 professionals, including: 2 Mechanical Engineers, 1 Electrical Engineer, 2 Structural Engineers & 3 Process Engineers.
- Collaborate with two Project Managers, another Principal Mechanical Engineer, and a Design Manager.
- Oversee engineering deliverables for sustaining capital projects across the mining sector.
- Provide strategic input and technical guidance for mineral processing plant projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to client specifications.


What you'll need to succeed

- 10-15+ years of experience in the mining industry or engineering consultancy.
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams on large-scale projects.
- Strong expertise in mineral processing plants and sustaining capital projects.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to foster client relationships and deliver quality outcomes.
