Department Summary:
MITRE’s Electronic Systems Development and Embedded Security department is seeking to hire talented and creative engineers with significant leadership experience in microelectronics systems, digital integrated circuit (IC) design and manufacturing, radio frequency integrated circuits (RFICs), and monolithic microwave integrated circuits. Qualified candidates will join a large department with a wide range of expertise and help lead teams of technical experts in microelectronics, wireless communications, embedded systems, and embedded security.
Job Description:
We are interested in highly motivated candidates with a wide variety of skills and interests in managing teams, projects, and seek new opportunities to develop new work opportunities. The position encompasses setting the vision for our department roadmap and investment strategy in RF capabilities, managing staff and projects, fostering professional development, developing new work opportunities, and delivering prototypes. In this role, the Principal Microelectronics Engineer will interact with our RF Systems team, our digital design teams, and our embedded security teams to perform systems engineering, RF, digital, and mixed signal hardware design, and both system and hardware test across a wide variety of communication, navigation, and sensor applications. The position provides an opportunity to apply a variety of design techniques, design automation tools, and prototyping capabilities to address challenging problems of national importance.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.Must be a US citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret security clearance.Minimum of 10 years of experience in microelectronic systems, with a focus on digital and analog integrated circuits, RFICs, MMICs, and firmware.Demonstrated ability to develop vision, roadmaps, and pursue business opportunities.Experience leading multidisciplinary teams to design solutions for national security challenges and deliver prototypes for demonstration and further adoption.Demonstrated technical expertise in microelectronics, including a deep understanding of state-of-the-art tools, techniques, and best practices.Experience proposing, evaluating, and executing research and development activities.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead complex projects and drive innovative solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to present technical information as a subject matter expert to both technical and non-technical audiences.Proven track record of success in mentoring and developing technical teams.Familiarity with best practices and emerging technologies in the microelectronics field.This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site.Preferred Qualifications:
