Vimeo enables anyone to create high-quality video experiences to connect better and bring ideas to life. We proudly serve our growing community of nearly 300 million users — from creative storytellers to globally distributed teams at the world’s largest companies.
As a Principal Product Designer, you will work collaboratively with engineers, product managers, team stakeholders, and other designers. You’ll have a direct impact on Vimeo’s business through design ownership of the creator ecosystem that powers Vimeo on mobile and desktop web (think uploading video, team collaboration, customization tools, video interaction tools and much more). We have a big vision to make the power of video accessible to everyone, and we need motivated, passionate team members to help us get there.
As a Principal Product Designer in Growth, you will play a pivotal role in driving user growth and engagement for Vimeo's creator ecosystem. You'll craft compelling user experiences that contribute to key growth metrics, including acquisition and retention.
What you’ll do:
Leverage mastery of your craft to help your product group succeed. Deliver simple, intuitive, and elegant designs that incorporate Vimeo’s brand guidelines while balancing multiple projects simultaneously. Drive design concepts and vision from business strategy discussions through to day-to-day hands-on design execution. Deliver best-in-class user-experiences worthy of the amazing content that is uploaded to Vimeo each and every day. Work collaboratively to directly engage with users and translate quantitative data and qualitative insights into informed design decisions and new product concepts. Based on product learnings, clearly communicate your ideas, concepts, and “aha!” moments to guide the team in developing new features and improving our product across all platforms. Mentor the team and lead the charge on lifting key business metrics that help Vimeo to grow. Drive initiatives to improve key business metrics that contribute to Vimeo's growth across monetization, retention, acquisition, and activation. Skills and knowledge you should possess: 6-8+ years as a product designer, user experience designer, or similar role with accompanying experience in visual design. An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating relevant experience. Show your work and process, not just final designs – and illustrate how it affected the user’s experience. Beautiful work is important, but the thinking behind it is even more so. Excellent user-centered design skills - you love the details and have a deep understanding of design fundamentals with a proficiency in Figma/Sketch and modern prototyping tools. Excellent communication skills - you can clearly articulate your design vision through verbal and written explanation, sketching, or quick mock-ups to small or large groups, from designers to the leadership team. Ability to be autonomous - you take initiative and end-to-end ownership of complex projects while collaborating with cross-functional partners and other designers, by seeking and giving feedback with a positive sense of curiosity and encouragement! Strong familiarity with industry standard UX practices and methods. Bonus points (nice skills to have, but not needed): Experience working with remote or distributed product teams. UX and site experience across mobile and desktop. Knowledge and experience with motion design and animation. SaaS experience.Base Salary Range:
