Principal Product Developer, Health Care Delivery
**Job Description** Blue Cross NC, is seeking a Principal Product Developer to join our Diversified Business Group. The Blue Cross NC Diversified Business Group (DBG) is focused on driving improvements in health care, affordability, access and equity through investments and partnerships with innovative health care organizations in North Carolina and beyond. Blue Cross NC, in part through provider acquisitions, is integrating front door health care delivery and the financing of healthcare to drive innovations in member experience, quality and coordination of care to lower cost while fostering growth of our healthcare partners. This person will act as a thought leader for the generation of ideas and carries through to product design, requirements definition, execution and launch to the market. In your dynamic role as Principal Product Developer, you will advise executive level leadership, providing a detailed assessment of current and future healthcare delivery products, programs, and vendor partnership strategies. Integrate strategies across the organization, and the intent and design of programs and initiatives. Develop insights and identify opportunities to activate the product/network strategy across multiple time horizons. Work collaboratively to build coalition and support as well as drive action with both internal and external partners. Lead the development and refinement of strategic plans and complex, highly visible initiatives to positively impact market offers and the relationships with provider systems. **What You'll Do** + Evaluate front door care delivery product opportunities or vendor partnerships to improve member health outcomes, experience and lower healthcare cost while creating new and growing existing market opportunities. + Work directly with staff and senior leadership across the company and directly with provider subsidiaries to proactively identify and prioritize strategic market offers and create meaningful and actionable outputs, drive the strategic development process to address these needs, and integrate and align work to the company’s overall strategic goals. + Develop and manage relationships with both internal and external partners to drive highly complex project/initiative work focused on significant business strategies, opportunities and innovation efforts with substantial levels of importance and visibility. + Influence the development and delivery of new market offers and the infrastructure required to implement corporate initiatives that require complex integration. + Collaborate and execute critical and highly complex activities such as strategic planning, compliance, highly complex financial/qualitative analysis and thought leadership at a departmental, multi-function, and enterprise level. + Drive product innovation efforts/ development of new ideas through collaboration and consultation with internal stakeholders to identify, plan and execute innovation efforts; help them better understand what problems they are trying to solve, articulate their vision and define and enable success. Provide methods and resources to support their execution of those plans. + Conduct data analysis and provide insights to collaborate on a dynamic team on complex challenging, highly visible, and highly impactful projects that drive value to Blue Cross NC, our Diversified Business Group assets, and our partners. + Manage business case evaluations and quantification of expected return-on-investment of initiatives in areas including pharmacy, care delivery, products, programs, and services. **What You Bring** + Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required) + 8+ years of experience in related field. + In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in related field. **Bonus Points:** **_(Preferred qualifications)_** + Product Development experience in healthcare delivery with providers and understanding of payer products and environment. + Some demonstrated ability in navigating ambiguity to drive outcomes and contribute to the analysis of a company’s needs supporting the development of actionable business strategies and serving as a liaison to executives, internal and/or external advisors. **What You’ll Get:** Blue Cross NC is truly a great place to work – and we have the hardware to prove it. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.
