This role is on the Knowledge Connect team within the legal transactional team, which is responsible for ensuring customers can use Thomson Reuters products to drive client value both from their unique internal knowledge and the various content sources to which they have access. We're providing value in different ways, including both new builds and partnerships, and including new ways of searching for and working with knowledge in the legal space. Our team is passionate about new capabilities and offerings that are integral to the success of the organization, our customers, and our customer’s customers. We're looking for someone to help us the next generation of search capabilities, over customer and third-party content, which will underpin how customers use knowledge. This role will need both - strong product management skills and deep technical acumen as well as strong design skills and domain expertise.
We are looking for a Principle Product Manager who can work across multiple products concurrently in the search space. These will include both back-end services used across multiple products and front-end usage of these products, ensuring customers find the right documents given their queries, intent, and desired outcomes, at an effective cost. This will involve experience in both different aspects of search and AI as it applies to search as well as the data storage which applies and search-specific skills necessary to drive customer outcomes for their client benefits.
You will evangelize the right ways of working given desired outcomes and all economic and other constraints. You will develop and actively maintain multiple product backlogs outlining the customer themes, epics, and stories while prioritizing these backlogs to focus on the highest impact work for customers and stakeholders, being sensitive to the practicalities of the products being impacted and taking advantage of the work. You will be responsible for translating technical complexity into simple customer and business assets and outcomes. Good communication will be key. You will encourage the open exchange of information and viewpoints, as well as inspire others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance.
About the Role
Uses industry awareness and deep subject expertise to develop long-term vision and strategy while achieving short-term targets
Domain expert in search, AI, and personalization as well as document storage and metadata. Deeply understands the technical, business, and customer environments
Understand customer problem statements including those of consuming product’s customers, and experiences to be solved, and can bring in cross-industry knowledge and experience to identify where new or significantly improved products are needed and then guide and deliver solutions
Understands and leads technical discussions and outputs (e.g. architectural diagrams and decisions) while not overstepping the product role
Understands and leads all types of product and business discussions with both individual and groups of customers and public speaking engagements
Produces all product artifacts, including backlogs, roadmaps, persona, personal and team KPI, etc. as well as best practice resources, across multiple initiatives
Evangelizes the product vision both across the organization and externally, delivering the organization’s strategy
Effectively leads all agile ceremonies with development and product leadership meetings and reviews
Experience in delivering value quickly within complex matrix products and teams, breaking bigger projects down into fast, deliverable chunks of value
Utilize data analytics to monitor and analyze operational metrics, identifying trends, anomalies, and areas for improvements
Experienced in working across multiple competing product teams
Shares information clearly and articulately via all mediums to all audiences
Demonstrates curiosity and an excellent capacity for learning; can recover from setbacks
Work with the Director of Product Management to ensure that roadmaps are well understood and risks highlighted
Coaches other product managers
Ensures that product backlogs are up to date and prioritized with stories to keep the engineering team effective and fully occupied.
Collaborate with teams to provide product release updates and status to stakeholders at the end of every sprint.
Responsible for maintaining product-relevant documentation, communications, and updates together with the product manager.
Building simple yet efficient workflows in synergy with the technology team as the customer’s voice leads to a fantastic customer experience.
Development background and history within the product of partnering and collaborating with architects and engineers to deliver complex and innovative solutions
About You
At least 7+ years experience as a product owner or product manager on a technology product and at least 3 years experience working with search and personalization related Technology.
Mastery of agile models and scrum processes.
Strong track record of successful execution of complex initiatives; completing and continuously delivering on expectations that have been set.
Ability to communicate complex concepts in easy-to-understand terminology both with internal and external stakeholders and in small and large audiences.
Know how to influence the decision-makers on product strategy.
Have worked as an engineer on an enterprise platform product within shared capabilities, documents and/ or enterprise search spaces
Should possess a thorough understanding of working with APIs/Services or enterprise-level software
Understanding of cloud platforms – AWS, Azure, and the services offered by these cloud platforms as they relate to search.
Understand different types of search, storage, and personalization methodologies and technologies.

For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $154,000 - $286,000.
This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
